What have they actually got planned with the area that used to be Burger King, Waterstones, Boots etc opposite the station?

Red carpet leading to the Cafe Royal?

I heard there'll be an apple store in one of the retail units. Think there were plans for a hotel above.

"Princes Street is set to be the site of an Apple Store thanks to a new building development opposite to the Balmoral Hotel.

The development, which is expected to last 18 months and cost £16 million, will also see the opening of a new 140-room Motel One hotel above the Apple Store."

He's clearly missed all the various shops near the Uni that offer such services.
