The questioning was rather pathetic as well....Osborne is a twat for sure but if that's the level of critical analysis our elected representatives are capable of then you really have to wonder.

In particular loved the part where the countries with higher deficits were quoted...Italy was one, was he seriously suggesting that we should follow their path to fiscal destruction or Japan with the highest deficit in the developed world and over a decade of deflation yet finances it (uniquely) via domestic savings or France where they can't find a path out of their mess or indeed the USA which is now printing money forever and is only getting away with it due to it being the worlds only reserve currency? What was his point? No wonder Gideon looked exasperated as it wasn't even a school playground level discussion.

Strange the Osborne claims child benefit though, that really is pathetic. You do wonder though when people will get over the fact that people employed by the state to make spending decisions for the nation as a whole will not suffer the impact of each and every one of those decisions.

Bang on.

That was really a partisan political argument. The chairman didn't handle it well and that guy asking the question wasn't even listening to Osbourne's answers.

I still think that many of the government's policies they feel "forced by circumstances" to make are driven by an ideological consideration before anything else.

Didn't really look like Osborne squirming, rather he was almost embarrassed at the inept committee performance he was facing. Quite depressing if that committee is representative of our elected members.

Exactly right.
