"Before the UEFA-cup game between Besiktas and Bolton in Istanbul the whole arena is first quieted and then lead into a frenzy by just one man, the leader of the infamous hooligan firm Carsi....Alen Markarian is his name"

Maybe we could get whoever's the current top boy of the CCS on the pitch before the next home match.

My mate was at the game mentioned and oddly enough said the Besiktas fans were incredibly welcoming and nothing like the stories you hear when fans go over to Turkey etc. Certainly different to when he went to the game against Atletico Madrid and the Spanish police were battering everyone in sight.

That'll probably be because it's illegal to let off smoke bombs inside stadiums here.

I was in Madrid that night, and you could see it coming an absolute mile off. Some of the Bolton fans behaviour that day was shocking. I mind seeing a women in her 40s passed out steaming at about 2.

Pyro/smokebombs are illegal in europe as well, not just here.

Some places in europe if your caught with a flare it can be a fine of thousands of euros.

I'll second that. Good ongoing back beat and noise from the S43 guys and something that the rest of the stadium can latch on to when the team turn up the pressure on the pitch.

Keep it going :aok:

Although yesterday was much better for singing 90 minutes than the previous week, both weeks it's been the last 15 mins or so that the place erupts. It shows that even with under 10,000 there is definately the vocal support to make Easter Road what it used to be, a fortress. Hopefully the team performances keep bringing people back, and eventually the noise will be as loud with 90 minutes to go, not 15.

Section 43 have a long way to go ...

Conversely you could say the rest of the stadium has a long way to go as S43 already sings and bounces its way through matches :greengrin

Was impressed as ever by the showing v ICT and was especially impressed by the wee boy sitting right in front of me as at around 3 years old he showed he can do the Hibees Bounce along with the best of us :greengrin

Thought the singing section did an outstanding job yesterday, and with the team playing well that noise fair got around the ground.

Good reviews on the ICT forum, their fans liking the Hibs stewarding, ticket price and atmosphere.

"Hibs were urged forward by a noisy crowd and they forced several corners...."

"Special mentions to Wotherspoon for his excellent goal definitely a goal of the season contender and a fantastic show by the Easter Road stewards who did not cause hassle at all. They made no attempt to prevent people from standing and enjoying themselves - take a bow the way stewarding should be at all grounds."

"This was my first visit to the 'new' Easter Road. Their stadium is fabulous and the atmosphere is terrific. The stewards seem such a nice bunch too. Top marks to Hibs for providing an excellent venue and well managed event. I look forward to going back there again sometime. Reasonable turn-out from the ICT fans too."

I agree, my only criticism would be the singing of the we're gonna win the league, and encouraging the players to pass the ball around when the game is nowhere near won. We should know by now (Dundee 4-4) not to get sucked into that bs, all it does is encourage the opposition and make our players lose focus on going for more goals.

Should have been 5 for the Hibees that day, Riordan was never offside. :grr:

No comment:devil:

Both are safe and sound and currently nursing their hangovers. Some of the group were hosted by GAIS supporters who attend a couple of Hibs matches each season. They were invited over for the GAIS/IFK derby. Sure a lot will be familiar with the GAIS lads.

Tremendous, lets see some more of this at Easter Road  knew there were a few guys going over (from reading your forum) sounds like a cool we link, if you can bring half the passion and colour that those guys do then your on to a good thing.

Aye, but it's no easy to set fire to damp Jambos in February in Leith. :cb

BTW - we DO all realise that most of those Newell's OB fans would be packing guns? That is the scariest-looking stadium I have ever seen. I could see the 'Hibees Bounce' taking on a new meaning in a stadium like that. The singing, however, is fantastic.

Bit off topic but for the years I've watched Hibs ER has never been a fortress!! This would indicate we went season after season not losing at home at some point in the last decade or three...

I think making your stadium into a "fortress" is just a term used by pretty much every team to indicate that it is difficult to come and play there. I don't think we would need to go season after season without losing a game at home to have ER considered a fortress. I'm sure that during the Mowbray and McLeish eras teams would not have liked coming to ER and would in fact have considered it a bit of a "fortress".

Have the Police not got more important things to worry about?
