My ex-wife's 1993 Rover 216 has been parked, unused, outside my flat for the past 2-3 years, but in January high winds blew slates off the roof and smashed the windscreen, so the neighbours are now, quite rightly, mumping about having it towed away by the Council.
Neither myself or my ex want it, so are going to get it towed away for scrap, but someone suggested I should be able to get some money for the scrap metal value. Does anyone have any idea what a fair price would be and suggest any reputable companies for the job?
Car is in the ex's name, but we are still in contact and she's happy to sign any papers required.
Any assistance appreciated!

Try webuyanycar.com. Buggers are never off my radio with their inane jingle and I believe they will buy any car.

Give this guy a phone: 0131 454 9611.
It's called Scrap Car Zone: local guy (yard is near Porty) local business. Straight forward: he gives you a price over the phone and will come and pick it up where it is the same day if he can. Easy as that. Don't expect a fortune: 100-150 - but he'll handle the paperwork for you etc and at least that will be it all sorted.

Watch what you're doing letting others deal with the paperwork. A few year ago I thought I'd scrapped a car but 6 months later got a speeding fine through the door for it! I went and seen the guy who was meant to scrap it, and to give him his due he sorted it out.
Just to clarify, it wasn't any of the guys mentioned above.
