Little bit odd Sparky starting IMO given he hasnt been in the squad for a while. Suppose Rhodes moving up has helped him.

Probably more natural replacement for Rhodes - also some of U21's are not playing first team football like he is.

Torn as want him to do well but U21's are always scouted well and considered good judge of level of players - could make any chance of keeping him beyond Jan difficult

Didn't know that Johnny Russell hadn't scored for the under 21's?

Danny Wilson has gone backwards - caught under ball 4 times already and long aimless passes on 6/7 occasions...

Russell and Griffiths getting high balls up to them

It's an eyesore.

As the commentator says, players getting their big move south just don't get games.

Hanlon a tad unlucky with flick on just passed the post... Poor service to forwards though. Not enough passing in behind.. Too many punts. Unlike the U21s!!

Scotland have been timid. Luxembourg are at least giving it a bash.

Agree a bit more urgency required.

Loved the commentary there. " billy stark of course played here in the 70s and 80s" did he????? St mirren have only been in this stadium about 2 years?

Tony Watt with the third from the spot. Hauled down after a nice turn (i thought it was outside the box)

Tony Watt looks a player and a half.

Seen him a couple of times for the Tims this year. Didn't realise he was Scottish but glad he is - looks a real prospect.

Having said that, if he remains at Celtc, he'll never get into the main Scotland team as he'll start to suffer from these mysterious injuries.

Indeed. Hopefully both make the step up to the full squad.

Great result after a disappointing first half.

On another point, what a poor turnout for an important game.

Why on earth is the home of under 21's football St Mirren park?

Easter road is available and convenient to a potentially much larger audience. And we have hosted these game successfully in the past.

The SFA and St Mirren tried something different and it isn't working.

Time to change the home game venue.

If they can't fill a ground like St Mirren Park, in the west of Scotland where there's arguably a large portion of the Scottish Football fanbase, why on earth would they justify moving to a larger stadium which can't even be filled for a full first team Scotland game?

After that last game and the Black incident, I doubt international football will return to ER for a wee while.

Do you think there would be a better turnout at ER? Maybe better touring the grounds.

There is a larger football population in the west but that's Glasgow and not paisley. And these people clearly aren't turning up for the games in the west.

Edinburgh and the east of Scotland have a more faithful and dedicated football support

We have had much bigger turnouts at Easter road for the Scotland under 21 games, for example the Iceland game last season.

I want to know how much blame is at the SFA's door for this turnout I.e. how much were they charging for admission. If it was relatively cheap then there's no excuse for people close enough to St Mirren park.

Finally, despite what Craig Levein thinks, you can't blame Easter Road, Hibs or the Hibs fans for booing Black for getting in the team/subbed on.

I know a group of St Johnstone fans that were given him dogs abuse. And they were not alone. If they had played the game at Tynecastle, the exact same would have happened.

In my opinion, the fans were booing Levein and his selections (bowing down to a once mighty 3rd division club) - not the individual player.
