Does anyone have any idea where about the bus lane camera is on London Road? I received a fine for driving in one today and from what I can see in the picture it looks like its opposite meadowbank shopping centre.

Sorry, I can't help with the op but does anyone know if the one on leith street going up towards the bridges is in use?

It's stupid because you can't get into the correct lane because there's only enough room for a few cars at the end of the bus lane.

You either sit outside the bus lane and people don't let you in and you block other traffic or you queue in the bus lane.

There's one pretty near jocks lodge, at meadowbank house heading towards piershill

During what times are these in force?

The hours of the bus lane I'd imagine?

Think it varies throughout the city, but generally 4:30pm to 7pm and they are also in force in the morning.

I was picking up my girlfriend from work that day (she works just off abbeyhill lane) so the only reason I would have been in the bus lane would be to turn left off London road, either opposite Jocks Lodge or opposite the shopping centre. Probably better off just pauing the £30 fine than risk losing an appeal and paying £60..

I think that's what they're counting on unfortunately.

My girlfriend got one for being in bus lane on Calder Road at midday on a Saturday - never realised they operated on weekends.

When you appeal, the original 14 days you get to pay it before it doubles to £60 is restarted once you hear if the appeal is successful or not.

I'm sure i've read a silly amount of these fines have been overturned, must be worth an appeal.

I got caught on that one :( bassas have it yards before it goes into a filtered lane to go straight through the lights. I see folk going through it all the time, council must be making a frigging fortune.

Dont give these up without a fight. Myself and a friend have been done with these and parking tickets and fought everyone. The council (we think through extensive writing) have a policy in place that after 6 letters have been sent back and forth have a policy that they will write off the fine. They will regularly come back with the nasty threatening letters saying they will take you to court but if you continue to argue the case you generally win as it is not worth their while taking it to court. This is defo the case with parking tickets. Thus far however i've been lucky and had my bus lane fines cancelled also.

What sort of arguments have you made against the bus lane fines - if you don't mind sharing?

Tempted to go down this route!

To be fair they have been genuine complaints, i.e picking people up from bus stops etc. No reason why you couldnt put an imaginative spin on it though..............no harm in trying.
