I really hope he enjoys his time at Hibs. Does anyone know much about him?

:agree: good cover given number of matches he has played on loan recently

Was at Leicester on loan a couple of years ago under Sven Goran Erickson (who had previously managed him at Man City), seem to remember loan ended after he broke a leg in an FA Cup game

I was at his Man C debut.

He's v. good - very two-footed IIRC.

I'm sure McPake will have been a strong influence in getting him in.

Very few replies to this thread, normally get quite a few posts welcoming new faces......maybe most are still in shock with the lack of new faces arriving!!!

Anyway, welcome Ryan, hope you have a good time at ER!

Sounds promising, I meant to ask earlier on if the boy was more of a wing back in the hope that he could play left mid. I think Marbury looks solid at fullback so I think he'd be hard to dislodge, good cover so I'm glad he sounds like he may be a bit more versatile. Welcome Ryan !!

More a deflection than an own goal :agree:

Think he will do well, can also play left sided centre half as well.

My mates a massive city fan and he said Cardiff tried to sign him this pre season but City didnt want to sell him. If true, must be decent.

Anyone know his squad number?

Youd have to be pretty confident of it being 3.

Having listened to the interview I am sure he says we will be in the fight for second place [along with a few others], as opposed to saying we can/will finish there. Apart from what McPake and Deano have told him about the Club he admits he knew very little about us - don't think he is best placed to form an opinion at this stage as he only met the rest of the players yesterday.

not wanting to be to harsh but having watched the Northern Ireland match the other night, I personally didn't think much of him, looked at times like his positional sense was non existent, he did long comfortable on the ball however and liked to charge fwd when he could, but as I said as a defender surely your bread and butter is defending might just have been my eyes but I will give him the benefit of the doubt and give him a chance to prove me wrong and I really hope he does.

He either needs a piss during the interview or is nervous - couldn't keep still

It will be interesting to see how often he plays and if he does who drops out, Maybury or Hanlon. Would be tough on either as both have had fairly good starts to the season IMO.

I reckon he will play every week at left back. He is a man city player and is an NI internationalist with 100 games in championship. On paper should be first choice.

Im not so sure, as Maybury has been decent and would be harsh to drop him. Mind should we have a bad result or 2 and he or PH under perform that may be his opportunity and then over to him to take it, dont think he will come straight in.

Could end up being in the Francombe mold as a bit part player who knows.

Lokking forward to seeing what he offers though.

The former, Fenlon was saying that he's been struggling with his dribbling.

I thought he said that some of his family are Hibs fans

if you have a spare half hour, get watching the NI v Luxembourg game on BBC iplayer - quite a few highlights worth watching for - great goal from NI and finish from Shiels, the madness of the bookings by the ref and Ryan being unlucky with the equaliser, but the highlight for me was BBC NI commentator - hard to describe but it was like he was reading a story rather than commentating. he had a pop at lafferty for continuing to be caught offside but it was that tame and softly spoken it did make me laugh.

im maybe easily amused mind
