I think I will be genuinely scared, I mean, if I was living in America I'd be terrified, but from what I see from not only him, but the whole Republican bandwagon that seems to just be crashing from one unbelievable disaster to the next (try and watch Clint Eastwoods speech at their convention), I genuinely feel this could be a disaster for the entire planet, not just the US! If Mitt has his finger on the big red button it's game over.

What makes you think this?

He's useless but you're being a drama queen.

Hopefully I am being dramatic, but I just do not trust him, have you heard some of his speeches? Apparently he's banging on about being stricter with Iran quite a bit, that doesn't fill me with confidence.

I would be delighted if that ends up being the case.
Iran running riot with nuclear weapons feels me with even less confidence than any speech that Mitt Romney could ever make.

I had the good (mis)fortune to listen to the whole of Mitt's speech live on Radio 5 Live 'Through the Night' and I felt that it was nothing but America's best offering of 'Motherhood and Apple Pie'
He only made two policy suggestions: one, that he would create 12 million jobs (yes, he did say that) and, two, that Obama had failed to tackle Putin.
Long way to go, but if that was his best offering, the Obama camp will be all smiles today!

I'm not sure what in particular worries you about Romney, but he was the least extreme candidate available to the GOP. He's changed his mind on just about every issue you can think of, a classic flipflopper. His running mate Ryan is about as extreme an ideological right wing nut as you could imagine though.
Between now and the election i expect Israel to do some sabre-rattling in the region, maybe even a preemptive strike on Iran. No american president will do anything to offend the israeli lobby close to an election.
The Eastwood thing was rambling nonsense, made more amusing by the republican audience cheering and hooting like it was comic genius.

As long as he doesn't appoint Eastwood Defence Secretary I'm not too worried!
