Hibs - St. Johnstone - who was your MOTM?

McPake and Griffiths have one each, since I started the MOTM poll. My vote today goes to Doyle.

Toss up between Doyle and Hanlon for me, but gave it to Eoin for his tireless running and harrying of the Saints defence. He made some really intelligent runs into the channels and pulled them all over the shop.

Hanlon easily, even without scoring the opener

Yup Hanlon for me - thought he was outstanding today.

Hanlon by some distance - he held things together in first half when most were not at the races. Lost count of the headers and blocks he made.

Edit - see some McPake votes. He did not win a single header first 20 mins was caught wrong side of ball several times and then gave away a gift of a chance second half. Far from his best?

McPake, Hanlon then Doyle:agree:

Hanlon for me, the experience & nous of the other 4 around him has really helped , fans were a bit more forgiving and supportive today; this transmits onto the pitch.

Agreed - I thought it was one of his poorest performances for us so far

Doyle for me. Best I've seen him. Great performances from Griffiths, Hanlon, Claros and McPake too. Williams wasn't tested much but looked solid.

Would really like to see him next to Kuqi.

Totally agree. Some very smart ideas down the wing.

Hanlon by a mile. I actually thought McPake had an average game by his high standards, bullied by Tade into the odd mistake first half and then presented the same man with a one on one second half. Still love him though:love ya!:

I couldn't vote for 3 but if I could it would have been McPake, Doyle and Hanlon in that order.

Claros for me. Even in the 1st half when we struggled he was always trying to pass the ball. Good player who looks like he is beginning to settle into Scottish football. McPake, Hanlon, Williams, Griffiths and Doyle were also very good today:aok:

I'm normally a forward man, however with McPake giving away that chance to Tade and Big Ben saving his bacon for a second week in a row. My vote goes to Ben Williams. Shot stopper extrordinaire:aok:

And he kept us in the game for the 2nd week in a row

I've bashed Hanlon before too often but definitely the best today, hopefully McPake can stay fit all season so Hanlon can learn from the captain.

Hanlon, Doyle and Griffiths were all good, but my vote goes to Claros. Always in space to receive the ball and usually an accurate pass to help build momentum.

Cairney , how McPake got mom is beyond me:confused: made several mistakes today. Hanlon by far outshone him in defence, having said that a wins a win get in there:flag: who cares

How Claros has so many votes and Deegan not one, is beyond me. Deegan makes us tick. Not only does he add dig but he's excellent on the ball and always wants on it. He keeps it simple and rarely gives the ball away. After 2 cracking results I'll resist being critical of Claros but the sooner Stevenson is back fit, the better!

I thought McPake did get caught out a few times yesterday and he does have a habit of trying to get in front of his man to get to the ball first, 9 times out of 10 he makes it, but when he doesnt if looks none too clever. Having said that he had one truly outstanding tackle in the box in the first half and gave everything to stop St Johnstone scoring when they were on top.

I thought Doyle was truly outstanding and his movement was top drawer .. deserved his goal and is looking like he could be a real threat in every game, not from a goals point of view, but just for the space he creates for others.

Williams was good considering that for all of their efforts St Johnstone didnt test him too much. He was quick smart to get off his line when McPake put him in trouble in the second half too.

Was a bit surprised that Caldwell and Kookie didnt get more of a run out, not much you can do in 7 minutes.

I knew you come round jc1.:greengrin

It's true what you say though, Paul is far better beside James than he is at left back or beside anyone else at centre half. James prefers the RHS and Paul the LHS so they compliment each other well.

At Tannadice James went left to accomodate Stephens, a selection that ended up with neither playing well.

James is due another injection soon, I'm wondering if they can squeeze it in at the international break so he doesn't miss a game for Hibs.

Won't he be on international duty himself though?

Possibly, I noticed he didn't get on in the most recent international.
