I remember the club telling us we needed 11k through the gates to break even a few years ago. Is this still the case, or has sevco going tits up changed this?

Perhaps a question for this meeting with the tache?

Would be interesting to know as that was the figure quoted for running the club entirely from gate receipts and not taking into account any tv deals that may have come along, IIRC. We have a tv deal now, and are surely paying lower wages then we were back in 2003.

It will have gone up by about 450-500.

I would imagine that a cup final day would reduce slightly the average home gate at ER required.

I think the figure quoted is an estimate based on no player sales, cup runs or TV money, although I'm unsure if it excludes TV money. Cup runs and player sales have to be seen as a bonus. I think it is a wise move for Hibs to say what the numbers are in terms of break even as it would give us a more realistic view when it comes to getting in more players etc. If the fans are not turning up then how can players of better quality be magiced out of nothing. Except in the case of the huns and diets who just make it up as they go along.
