Getting chased by the polis.

RIP - Very very sad news, condolances to his family and friends, real shame.

Sorry I didn't know the person. Just read RIP good Jambo Ian Ross on Twitter. Anyway, as you say, doesn't really matter now. Hope he rests in peace.

It is tragic, deeply tragic but of course the circumstances matter.

Anyway, won't bring it up again as it will raise it's head in the next few days I imagine.

What I was meaning to say is that inaccurate reports or allegations/suggestions who/when/why will not benefit his family at this time that is all.

Genuinely gutted by this.

As I said on this earlier thread met the guy a couple of times and played footy with his cousin.

Whatever the circumstances this is truly sad. Guy had a young family.

Football goes out the window at a time like this.

RIP.

Guys just looking at both this and kickback and it's genuinely nice to see so many of messages of support from both sides. I'm sure Ian's family and friends will be deeply touched at this while going through such a terrible time for them. I only hope the sun prints a full apology for what they called him. That paper makes me sick to the stomach. Glad to see the fans have more class and dignity than them.

My thoughts are with this young man's family and friends. Particularly tragic for his partner, and for his kids to face growing up without their dad.
Hope his family are treated with the compassion they deserve.

I really feel for his partner and 2 young kids. They'll be utterly devastated.

Also, what the Sun and DR did here (reporting it as a 'football yob' and linking it to the game, even though he seemingly had no interest in football) is nothing short of a disgrace.

As someone on KB said, the sooner these cheap colourful toilet-rags go out of business for good the better!

The totally fabricated reportings that have appeared in some papers have caused so much more pain and hurt to an already heartbreaking time. We will all miss Ian so much and its still hard to take in that we wont see that big smile again or hear his big laugh. The family will be grateful for all the thoughts being passed on here.

How anyone with any morality can work for these papers is beyond my understanding.

Even if he was a football yob (which he wasn't), I'm sure that 'father' and 'husband' were far higher up the list of things that he was in his life.

Disgusting and irresponsible reporting.

I know people who knew Ian, and he is certainly going to be missed by a lot of people. As others have said, his death is tragic for his family regardless of how it came about.

I thought this was a pretty sad story too; http://www.scotsman.com/edinburgh-evening-news/inquiry-rules-city-law-graduate-fell-asleep-while-driving-lorry-1-2468247. It's worth remembering that there are deaths every day, and to those affected by them, they are all tragedies on the same scale.

Thats the kind of sad, real-life story you could use if you wanted to write a novel about the world we live in today, thanks for posting. Don't want to hijack this thread which is about another mans death though.
