Enough negativity, let's focus on what is going to (hopefully!) be a decent year for Hibs.

Prediction hats on folks - which player do you think will be our player of the year this season, someone who makes a clear difference.

Hopefully Doyle gets the chance to shine this season. Seems such a good player

I would have went for Griffiths if it was a one year deal.

Went for McPake instead.

Cairney looks the business, gets stuck in and looks comfortable on the ball and appears to be a handful on the pitch. I can see him getting a lot of plaudits this season and being our player of the year.

i thought i'd add Clancy... I was going to say Williams, McPake or Handling but Clancy i reckon will do well. Im just hoping the team as a whole do well...

"..out tope player this year?" - Eh...remove oven gloves before typing.

I think Ross Caldwell may have a good season. I'm just not sure how many starts he will get.

Went for Sammy Stanton. Definately a very good player in there, whether or not he breaks through to the first team this season or next we will have to wait to see.

Mark Kerr.

Any reasons why? Sorry im being a bit picky but I don't know much about him and by other peoples opinions you either hate him or love him?

Went for griffiths. Struggled between mcpake, cairney and sparky the goals he'll score edged it.

Mainly just a fishing attempt, trolling if you will, to see if any of the Kerr bashers bite.

The reaction to him being on trial with us has been OTT even by Hibs.net standards.

You mean Mark Kerr - future Hibs captain, midfield general, 2012-13 SPL player of the year/top scorer, future Hibs player manager. That Mark Kerr?

I think so too. Provided he plays regularly (Im assuming he will be), I think he could be a really good find for us. Obviously McPake will be up there for POTY, but I think Cairney will be in with a good shout.

Sammy Stanton - he is an old fasioned outside left who will make you get off your seat when he has the ball at his feets and dribbles......

Its players like him that can re-kindle the love of football again

I'm sure I heard Iniesta say he had long studied the game of Mark Kerr, and will be honoured to play in his testimonial when MK is a club legend, record appearance holder and long term captain in ten years time.

You took that too far, get your coat.

As for POTY - has to be Deek for me.

How you can even compare the great Mark Kerr to those five no-marks is utterly incomprehensible.

I was tempted to take a chance on Cairney as I'm hopeful he could turn out to be a really good signing. But on the evidence of last season my POY predictor pick has got to be McPake!

I'm delighted that he signed on to be our captain for the next couple of years and I'll be even more delighted (baring injury disasters god-forbid) if I end up being wrong - as I think McPake will have a cracking season anyway and if any other Hibs player pips him for POY then we'll be going in the right direction.

I suppose I probably predicted that people would to be likely to go for McPake, but glad to see people seem to rate Cairney. Here's to a good year ahead!

Agreed, but will he get a chance?, and if he does and he is a success will Petrie bite the hand off the first bidder for him?, these questions need to be answered first.

Negative post alert!
