There is currently a campaign to get Allan 'Quick Draw' McGraw into the SFA Hampden Hall of Fame. I think that this is a good shout.

Allan was born in 1939; he holds the record for most goals in a season in Scottish football while at Morton, over 50 I think. He finished as Morton's top goalscorer in five consecutive seasons, scoring 117 goals in 136 games. During his playing career he suffered a number of injuries. He went on to play for Hibs from 1966 to 1969, where he scored the winning goal in the League Cup semi final against Dundee at Tynecastle. While playing in that game he sustained yet another injury and played on as Hibs had already used their only sub, Jimmy O'Rourke. He took a number of pain killing injections in order to play while injured. This ruined his knees, causing great pain and necessitating the use of walking sticks for the rest of his life. Allan played 71 games for Hibs and scored 19 goals for us. After leaving Hibs he went on to play for Linfield before returning to Morton. He eventual managed Morton for 12 years.
Allan’s son Mark also played for Morton and Hibs, if fact it was Allan that sold Mark to Hibs.

It would nice to get someone else into the Hall of Fame with no connection to the Old Firm.

Feed McGraw, McGraw, he`s ayeways oan the ba`, Feed McGraw, Feed McGraw. What a hero. That night against Dundee was one of the bravest performances in Scottish football history. To cap it off, he scores the winner in true "Roy of the Rovers" style. Great man, great player.

Good shout Mo

Just to clarify - the article posted infers that the injections given at the Dundee game led to his later leg problems, however he started having cortosone injections much earlier in his career and is reported to have had 25 injections in one season at Morton.
