Starting today.

Who does everyone fancy? I'm being boring and going with Woods at 9/1 on Betfair with Westwood E/W at 14's (or on betfair, £10 win at 14's and £10 top 5 finish at 7/2).:agree:

Just seen on Sky Sports that Quiros hit a hole in one at a 278 yard, par 4 in practice (to be fair, it was probably only a 7 iron for him :greengrin)

The nature of the game of golf probably makes "intelligent betting" even more difficult than in any other sport.

For what it's worth, my not so clever bets are:-

Luke Donald (12/1). I intend to bet on "Looook Looook" each way and I'm sure he'll give me a good run for my money.

Matt Kuchar (28/1)

and out of sheer patriotism - Martin Laird (100/1)

If only Lee Westwood could putt then he'd be Number 1 in the world imo.

His chipping is the most suspect part of his game. If his putting is on he will win. Hes my man for the week.
Dustin Johnston could do well but having won last week its improbable he will win.
I dont know what price Rose is but each way could give you a return. I reckon him and Donald have the best bunker games in the world at the moment.
So to recap its
Westwood
Johnston
Rose and Donald all each way.

Adam Scott 44/1, and Jason duffner 33/1 for me. Also put a 10 spot on tiger at 2/1 to finish in the top 10.

I thought I was getting decent prices with Paddy Power but you guys have pipped me.

£5 e/w Tiger 8-1 (e/w 1/4 odds first six)

Also have Kucher and that useless basket Mickelson but I can't remember the prices I got them.

The wife backed Justine Rose (luckily for her I stuck her money on brother Justin instead ) so a good start for us barring Mickelson (who the wife also had a flutter on)

Am on Kooooch @ 28s

Will top this up after today's play - possibly with Westwood and Tiger.

Course looks lie it would be nigh impossible for us lesser mortals!

:agree:

It makes for interesting viewing nevertheless.

The 36 hole cut turned out to be a +8. I can't see what the difficulty is myself.

TV viewing will be improved from now on as all the field will be starting from the 1st tee. It's difficult to see past another Tiger victory the way things are shaping up.

I prefer to see the players having to work for their birdies and pars.

I hate to see someone -20 in the tournaments on these easier "stadium courses" that the Yanks have. Majors should be hard to win.

Tv coverage is very poor tonight. Too much comment and not enough shots!

Thank god I saw this thread, or else I'd have blissfully spent tomorrow purely doing domestics, applying for jobs and giving Charlize Theron a right good seeing to.

Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

:agree: The marigolds are staying in the cupboard under the sink today methinks.

Just had another £5 matched at 19's on betfair. I know he's a few back but I think +2 could win it. I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to lay it off at some point anyway.

Quite fancy Westwood now.

Very good scoring yesterday and he's arguably the best player in the world from tee to green. If the short game holds up he has a real chance.

Only a fool would rule out Tiger though.

Funny one Simpson. Up to 5 in the world now but I would never have dreamt of putting money on him to win this, or any major tournament.

Dunno Pretty Boy. Him and Duffner are multiple winner on the PGA Tour of late. I don't think Simpson in particular is going away anywhere soon.

That was kind of my point.

A very good golfer, PGA tour winner yet I've never really considered him when betting on golf.

Definitely one to keep an eye on.

I got returns on McDowell and Dufner .. bottled it on Simpson @ 4/1 on live betting after Furyk's long par save on 14 or 15 :grr:
