HUW Lobb collected a £25,000 prize in 2004 when he became the first man in the 25-year history of the annual William Hill Man v Horse Marathon to finish the 20 mile-plus course in a faster time than the first horse and rider. Now, for the first time, Lobb is returning to Llanwrtyd Wells tomorrow in an effort to win the race again. Londoner Lobb will be racing up to 30 and riders as he tries to deprive the sponsors of this year’s £,1000 prize. Hills are offering odds of 5-1 that he or any other human runner can defeat their equine rivals.
