Last week’s tale of Aberdeen Grammar School FP 2nd XI and Knightriders bowling all the overs from one end because of a wet run-up was spotted by blogger Fantasy Bob. “In 1612,” blogged FB, himself a former pupil, in his Casual Observations on Carlton, Cricket, Life, and All That Other Stuff, “the pupils of Aberdeen Grammar school rioted against petty rules and, brandishing firearms, took over part of the school. It’s good to see that, when it comes to cricket laws the revolutionary spirit of 1612 is not dead!”
