The English FA have relegated Darlington FC 4 divisions today after they failed to agree a deal with creditors. They will start next season in Northern League division 1.

They've had nothing but bad luck since they left feethams. The boy that built their new ground was a crook.

We've been absolutely shafted......

Leeds: exit admin without a CVA - deducted 15 points
Luton: exit admin without a CVA - deducted 20 points
Boston: exit admin without a CVA - demoted one division
Northwich: exit admin without a CVA - demoted one division
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Farsley: fold mid-season - demoted one additional division
Ilkeston: fold mid-season - demoted one additional division
Chester: fold mid-season - demoted two additional divisions
Nuneaton: liquidated at the end of the season - demoted two divisions
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Darlington - exit admin without agreeing a CVA - demoted three divisions.

It was the same Contractor that built our new East Stand - or do you mean the actual owners?

Yeah that's the boy. Ruined a decent community club. Out of interest the last time I was in Darlington a few years ago feethams was still intact although over grown. Is that still the case??

Yip still there. Some developers have first dibs on the land after paying the attached cricket club (who owned the land) a deposit many years ago. The dream is obviously to return but it'll never happen.

The Tin Shed still stands!!! See the following around 1 min 50, you can see the remains of the tin shed in all it's glory!!!

That can't be right, have they not been listening to Donkey Doncaster. Don't they know there is no difference between a CVA and a liquidation/New Club exit from administration.

It is time the Donkey returned south to educate the tribes down there in the importance of sporting integrity. :greengrin

I'm fairly sure that Darlington FC were one of the clubs named a few years back that were under investigation for EBT's.

Sad when a club goes like this...but have a thought for clubs in the leagues in-between. It'll mean that some clubs don't get relegated/promoted because of their replacement in the league structure.

Halifax town went down to the same league few years ago. Back up to conference north now though.

Best thing in long run for them.

Indeed. It's in my blood now. Can't wait for next season. GGTTH

Darlo have been utterly shafted but at least we are free of dodgy chairman, the white elephant stadium and owned by the fans. We should have been put in the EvoStick. I'm surprised the police didn't have a says as there may be a few crowd issues in the Northern League. Plenty of derbies though!

Anyway, this is a Hibs forum!!!!

But seriously a shocker for Darlo, shame for the fans, have enjoyed my visits there in the past! Hope they are back up to the conference soon

"conference soon" !

We need to be back where we belong, in the league beating the chimp chokers still residing in League 1.

To think when George Reynolds said we'd be in the Premier League in 5 years when he built that stadium we lapped it up.

If we survive and get back in the conference in 5 years it'll be a major achievement.

This is brutal. I read the post on darlo uncovered about the fan wanting everyone to go to barrow the next day, for what could have been their last game. had a lump in ma throat reading it, everyone should go and have a look at it, it really sums up what it means to love your team. Best wishes to all darlo fans.

Didn't we sign Shelton Martis from Darlington? Maybe that is where their problems started. That and building a shiny brand new ground that they didn't need.

It's actually another level below that - equivalent level of North West Counties/North East Counties leagues (Brighouse Town etc)

Farsley went bust a few years ago after over-stretching their finances in the Conference - they're now plain old Farsley FC rather than Farsley Celtic.
