Don't know if that's totally right ? Thought Hamilton played from the start, and Bertie Auld was certainly a (used) substitute.

The team listed was the winning team in the 72 League Cup Final

The one with Hazel and Auld was the 72 Scottish Cup Final Team

Correct, I was referring to the League Cup winning team.

I just assumed the OP was meaning a cup winning team as opposed to the team that got beaten 6-1.

I've got a scottish cup fixation...I just assumed it was the Scottish Cup team, which reading back now seems a bit silly.

Me too.

Thing is if you were wanting to get a number on the back of a 72 strip the likely ones wore the same number in both games.
