Would be good to get him on loan for next season - been one of the missing pieces in stabilising our defence and good going forward.

Yeah they rate him highly down there so not too surprised. He was always going to be the least likely to stay on.

Yup, think the original poster was just saying that he was going back to play for Wolves next season, this was fully expected

:agree:

OP was just passing on what Doherty was saying.

Can't fault the guy's effort and performance level since he's been here. He's been great recently. :aok:

He could work on his interviews though.

He will get a big move at some point in the future - great given his age...

Lets hope he leaves with a winners medal in his bag.....:greengrin

Was even more a cert he would return after they got relegated. He's been a good player for us. Hopefully the fact he wont be back may free him of any nerves on the 19th.

What's the story if he puts Black over the stand?

I mean in suspension terms....I know he'll be lauded as a hero for evermore in these parts.

If it's outside the box then Hearts will get a penalty probably.

Wasn't expecting anything else.

He'll probably play quite a big part for them next season, since they'll be in the Championship.

Good luck to him for the future, done well for Hibs and here's hoping he goes back with a winners medal. He also set the ball rolling in our relegation decider.:aok:

From what I hear from two ex Hibs players who still are working at ER it appears there are two ' loanees ' staying permanently : the rest are 'possibles' rather than ' probables ' .
Given what we are reading /hearing this sounds about right
My money is on McPake./Griffiths staying .
Thoughts anybody ?

I think your spot with the 2 above
Possibilities on staying are Francomb and O'Donnovan
Going probably are Soares and Towell
Gone unfortunately - Docherty

A lot of unneeded replies to the OP. Given all the chat about players extending their stays at ER or leaving, it's a very relevant piece of information. :agree:

I liked Docherty at RB and would have liked him to stay but oh well, thanks for the info OP. :aok:

I would agree with your assessment.

Only comment I would add is I don't want O'Donavan to stay, I think there is better out there for us.

I agree about O'Donavan, maybe useful though as a squad player, but a good pre season may help him

I we lose Docherty, then Francomb is a good replacement at right back, if we can get him to stay.

I've been led to believe we have a buy out clause in the loans of McPake and Griffiths, just need wages etc sorted out.

Have to say after McPake, Doherty would have been my next pick of the the loans I would want to keep(even before Leigh). RB has been such a big problem for us and he has more than sorted it. Unfortunate there is no way he will be staying and we are back to square one, Francombe maybe if he stays.

Completely agree average at best. Was disappointed in the games v Killie and St Mirren, his apparent lack of endeavour when he came on. We have a cup final and he had the chance to impress would have thought he would have been running through walls and running himself to a standstill to impress however disappointedly didnt see any of that.

He's just not very good, rather give a youngster a chance than pay him wages.

Doherty has always said he wants to go back to Wolves and give it a go of getting into their first team, so its not really unexpected. Depending on their situation next year, especially as they have a new manager, he might be further down the pecking order so that would be our best chance of getting him back on loan.

As for the two that are supposedly staying, Griffiths and McPake would be most peoples first choice but I imagine they will also be 2 of the most dfficult players to get signed up, as Im sure there will be others interested (unless we have deal of a first offer etc). Francomb would be a decent signing but wouldnt really keep the rest, Soares isnt great (would be alright if he was on free I guess) and ROD hasnt made much of an impact.

A loan is a type of debt (http://www.hibs.net/wiki/Debt). Like all debt instruments, a loan entails the redistribution of financial assets (http://www.hibs.net/wiki/Asset) over time, between the lender (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lender) and the borrower (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/borrower).

In other news, recent studies have shown that bears often seek out woodland areas for the purpose of defecation.
