I predict there will be lots of rolling about the floor pretending to be wounded. Hope Barca win though.

Barca will win.. Madrid players will yet again kick the s*** out of Barca's players and show themselves up to be the pile of vermon that comes along with being associated with that club....

I'm off to Barcelona tomorrow for a few days so I hope they win tonight to get the locals into a good frame of mind.

Fourth one this season, but only because they drew each other in the Copa del Rey.

I would think there's still a fair chance of a fifth one too.

Even though it's at Barca, I fancy Madrid could sneak it. They're well worth a punt, 4/1 I heard!?

4-4.

Think that might be a bit optimistic given Mourinho knows a draw should be good enough.

Barca have had the upper hand in these games for a few yrs now.. But what makes it more interesting tonight IMO is that Barca must win... So it should be a good one. Madrid will most likely sit in and counter atrack and kick and cheat but as a big fan of Barca I'm looking forwad to seeing them perform in the el clasico and then chelsea game.. 2 games at home they must win... Hope they romp both!

Not bothered which team wins. I'll watch and am just hoping for a good game without the constant appealing for fouls.

I think Barca will win; they have to, and they seem to beat Real all the time now.

Thought Barcelona played well against Chelsea - and Real Madrid really were awful- but, it probably means little for this evening's game :greengrin

Hibs-esque defending from Puyol there

Sylar

Real clearing taking a leaf out of Chelsea's book - 2 very compact rows of 4 across the back and middle - stifling Barcelona at every turn.

Real playing well thus far.

Barca are always slow in possession until the last third.

Standard Ronaldo dive leads helps create corner for goal.

How is Ramos not booked? 3 Fouls in first 10 mins?

(Can you tell I'm a Barca fan lol)

Real have been very impressive thus far - frustrating and suffocating Barcelona all over the park and restricting them to only 2 decent chances. Arbeloa has been a rock thus far.

They're managing to do it without kicking lumps out of them for a change, which is a nice change!

Agree, but quality teams (like Barca) play 'football' home and away.

Ronaldo must be wondering why he chose Madrid (hoof, punch, block) A player with his talent should be playing in a 'football' team.

All that's missing here is Drogba. Anti-football at it's very best :agree:

I don't buy into this anti-football argument. There's more to the game than classy passing, swift movement and fancy tricks.

Good defending is equally impressive and can yield success. If Real (or any other club) tried to play with the same style as Barcelona, they'd get ripped to shreds.

The financial rewards for winning competitions like La Liga, the Champions League etc are massive and if you have to deal with a club like Barcelona to get there, you play to your strengths.

It might not be the easiest on the eye for supporters, but these guys aren't playing for the benefit of entertaining a crowd - they're playing to win trophies and money.

If ever there was a player who deserves to be on the end of an absolutely horrific challenge, it's Pepe. Scrotum of a human being.

Barney McGrew
21-04-2012, 07:20 PM
Alonso very lucky not to pick up a second yellow.

Not that it would make much difference since Real are sitting so deep anyway.

Sylar
21-04-2012, 07:24 PM
Shame Real are resorting to this now. Not a sign of it in the first half and they defended very well indeed. Now they're dropping all over the park and the referee is just allowing it.

Anyone recall when they last lost 2 games back to back?

Goals - yes, class - no.

Rolls about as if he's been shot then springs to his feet...

Funnily enough, he wants to be known as the best player ever. I could name 10 better players in a single breath :agree:

All hail anti-football :cb

Anyone remember Porto's performance against Celtic in 2003?

This is what ''The chosen one' brings to our beautiful game...

How do I explain this style of 'football' to our under 10 football team?

Firstly wait till you've finished crying then dry your eyes and wipe off the residue of what Jose's hose has just pumped all over you Barca (armchair) fans.

That's free of charge pal as I always like to help community groups.

Real got their tactics spot on and defended very well. Strange team selection from Barca. Great winning goal and league over. I didn't think Real would be able to win there, but well done to them.

Football is about goals and stopping goals.

Real knew they would get ripped a new one in an open game, same as Killie and the Yams against celtic. Its knowing how to get teams playing like that to 'come out' which is the mark of a great manager, thats why Neil Lennon aint a great manager.
