I personally believe that madness is situational. If you are the only person in Edinburgh behaving like this, you are mad. However, given that 50,000 other people are also behaving in the same manner, then you would be mad if you didn't.

I am honoured that you would think so highly of my humble little book.

I just hope he realises the bit about "when able, feign inability" doesn't mean playing O'Hanlon.

"All warfare is based on deception... Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder and crush him... Pretend to be weak that he may grow arrogant..."

No problem there - arrogance is what the Yams do best ...

"If in training commands are habitually enforced, the army will be well-disciplined; if not, its discipline will be bad. If a general shows confidence in his men but always insists on his orders being obeyed, the gain will be mutual."

I wouldn't PLAY O'Hanlon. But if Paddy could convince the Yams that he's GOING TO PLAY him, and then plays McPake instead .... :greengrin

Sadly Mcpake is injured so we'll have to play O'Hanlon. See what i did there, Sunny T would be proud.

Carry the battle to them. Don't let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don't ever apologize for anything.

Exactly - ultimate excellence lies not in winning every battle but in defeating the enemy without ever fighting.

Although I'm not sure how that would translate to a football pitch.
