I seem to remember in the lead up to the 2001 final this board was awash with people posting numerological nonsense that pointed towards us winning the cup that year. Also other stuff like who we'd played in 1902 and also in 2001.

Is there any for this year?

Well, for starters there's the Irish manager 'coincidence'.

I'm not superstitious in the slightest, but I do like the coincidences that tram lines were being laid in 1902 and 2012 and that the clock on the Balmoral Hotel (North British) stopped in 1902 - just as it did last month.

we have all heard about the curse but does anyone know of the true story?ive heard a few variations of the harp on the old main stand being removed and a gypsy putting a curse on us until it was re-instated but the best seems to be coming true this year i was told many years ago that when the last irish manager at hibs won the scottish cup he was later sacked,a friend of his was an old gypsy who placed a curse saying hibs will not win the cup until an irish manager was back at the helm of hibernian fc...fast forward to 2012 and in comes our very own paddy fenlon from ireland http://www.hibs.net/images/smilies/smile.png and now in the cup final against our lovely neighbours,no need to worry about this final then :aok:

It's the weather. The three cup final wins I've been to (all League cup, sadly) I got soaked either on way, at game, or on way out.
The cup final defeats the weather was dry (unless my memory serves me wrong)
Now I cant be there on 19th but I really hope it pours down :greengrin Sorry for wishing that on you all but we need the rain

2007 was wild. It was glorious in the morning, I wore my kilt. By the time big Rob Jones was nodding (loosly used term for smashing the baw in with his napper) us in front it was snowing, then it rained, and by the time Fletch was sending us wild again it was sunny again.

When we were parading the cup that evening I was wishing I had thermals.

Its 110 years since we last won the Cup.

This Derby game will be my 110th consecutive Hibs v Hearts game, across all (first team) competitions.

Even as an uber-rationalist, I cant help but accept that this juxtaposition of numbers have mystical consequences which are good.

Dan was Club Secretary up to 1903 when, after the club was incorporated, Phil Kelso was appointed the first Manager, for the 1903-04 season. Dan was made manager when Phil left to manage Arsenal in 1904

My son stayed at ours after we both attended the semi. I've just found his empty tea cup which must have been knocked / rolled under his bed in the spare room. I was about to put the mug in the washer, but noticed a tea stain on the inside of the mug, which IMO could be taken as a sacred image. The mug had been on it's side, and the dregs of the tea had dried gradually over a period of days, leaving elongated stain lines from the base of the mug, giving the impression of an arched cave. There is an image within the "cave" which I believe represents the sign, that the search for the Holy Grail will soon be over. I asked my wife what she thought the image looked like, which I wont reveal just now. I've tried to take pictures, but the images don't do it justice. I still have the mug, unwashed, in a plastic bag to try and preserve the image.

Fellow Hibbies, have faith, the cup is ours,:thumbsup::agree:

Walking up to Hampden before the semi, I picked up a ticket that at first glance appeared to be an unfortunate Hibbie's dropped matchday brief. It wasn't. It was a discarded ticket belonging to a disgruntled Celtic fan storming home after their recent League Cup Final defeat to Kilmarnock. Obviously this tale could only be remotely interesting had the brief been from 1902, but it went in the wallet anyway thinking it might bring us luck, and will be travelling to the final in the wallet again as a good luck charm. :cool2:

Hearts are listed as the home team in various websites including Hampden Hospitality.

http://www.hampdenpark.co.uk/assets/uploads/downloads/PDFs/hospitality/WHSC%202012%20FINALBooking%20Form.pdf

http://www.livefootballtickets.com/scottish-cup-final-hearts-v-hibernian-tickets/glasgow-10989.html

But we know that Hibs are the " home " team.

http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_cup_fixtures.cfm?page=1988

Why is this so important, you may ask?
Well, everytime that Hibs or Hearts have been listed officially as the home team, they have won the cup. Everytime they have been officially the away team, they have lost.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Scottish_Cup_winners

Hearts have never won the cup when the year ends in a 2, we have. It's our cup, it's in the bag.

I'm a great believer in this sort of stuff. I used to be a follower of that great soothsayer Vladimir Romanov but not many of his pronouncements have come true so I have switched to my new Guru Psychic Bob.

He doesn't go for the same sort of surreal statements as my previous Guru but he is much more accurate, for example he has recently gazed at the stars and announced to the waiting world that Hearts are a bunch of cu*ts, Good enough for me, who needs Russell Grant when this sort of insight and futuristic forecasting is freely available?

we won the cis cup in 2007, We won the Scottish cup in 1902 = 2007 - 1902 = 105. 105 is the amount of managers Hibs have had in history 1902 - 1887 (the two times we won the Scottish cup) = 13 (the amount of times we failed to win it)

this is the one.

Now then now then, here is a piece of breaking news.

Looks like the Hibs Net team of Carheenlea, Malcolm Bogie and myself plus one other won today's Factory Cup golf competition at Peebles Golf Club with a magnificent eight under par perforrmance.

To add to the superstition aspect, I've just been presented by a Brora Rangers supporter of a Hibernian engraved golf ball which was found on the golf course.

There ain't much stranger than that and is surely yet another sign that a glorious victory is about to be ours!

Hibs have had 105 managers since 1875?? Are you sure? That's more than 1 every 1.5 years. Rangers have had about 20 full stop, so I find that hard to believe!

Right, since April I have worn the thistle shirt while watching Hibs on the telly.

V Motherwell - 1-1
V ICT - 2-1
V Aberdeen - 2-1
V Dunfermline - 4-0

I was flying back from Newcastle and missed the St Mirren game.

You all know what I will be wearing to Hampden on the 19th, and it won't be a green and white shirt.

(Incidently for the 2007 cup final I wore the bottle green away shirt, for the 2004 cup final I was wearing the home shirt).
