That video is a panda version of what would happen if you put a grill to divide the genders in nightclubs up and down the land :greengrin

Loved this bit:

"Zoo staff said Tian Tian's tail kept getting in the way. Keepers have using a long poll to try to raise the female panda's tail"

They have a 36 hour window, once a year, in which to get her knocked up, and some sod with a broom handle is tasked with effectively doing the equivalent to moving her knickers to the side - that's got to kill the moment right???

If you've been celibate for the last 364 days, I doubt anything could kill the moment!

A good point well made. In that case, here's hoping for Baby Pandas in EH12. Would be a major boon to the local economy.

The problem in captivity is that there is nothing to get the boy desperate for it.

In the wild he would be competing with other males and the competition would get his testosterone up.

Getting in the mood also takes calories to support it. These guys keep their testosterone low to conserve energy. Bamboo has very little of the energy they need and in captivity they just can't get enough of it and so their levels are kept low.

.

Nonsense. A Marvin Gaye CD, a bottle or two of (bam)booze and a copy of Hot Bears Monthly and he'll be up for anything.
