Incident at Broomhouse

On the way to work this morning I passed one of the squares in Broomhouse (just along from Saughton House) and there was blue tape, police everywhere and one of those wee white tents they use for covering bodies.

Anyone in the know as to what has happened?

Someone was shot last night in Broomhouse Gardens. It's getting worse and worse as the days go by in the west of Edinburgh.

Someone defo shot and killed, right outside my mates house. Worrying thing is it happened about 12 last night and I'd normally be leaving his around then when I'm round.

A MAN has been found dead in a city street with gunshot wounds.
The man, who is thought to be in his 30’s, was found in Broomhouse Gardens East just after midnight following a call from emergency services.
Police sealed off the area from Broomhouse Park to Broomhouse Medway.
It is understood that the man had suffered gunshot wounds.
One man who lives nearby said: “I was walking my dog at 9am and was stunned to find the whole area cordoned off and a big white tent set up.
“It’s usually pretty quiet around here. I dread to think that the guy has died as result of any wrongdoing.”
A police spokesman said: “The death of the man, who has not yet been identified, is currently being treated as unexplained.
“Officers attended at Broomhouse Gardens East, near its junction with Broomhouse Park. The man’s body was found on a grass area nearby.
“The area is currently cordoned off while a full forensic examination is carried out. House to house inquiries are also being carried out and anyone, who was in the area around midnight and who may have seen or heard anything is asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 01313113131 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
