Just before united scored their first goal we had a shout for a penalty as griffiths went through on the utd keeper, I didn't get a good view of it, was it a decent shout or was it just hopeful appeals?

Hopeful I thought. The ref had an Ok game today. Not often I say that.

Not even hopeful appeals from my view-never a penalty.

Thought that one was pretty hopeful TBH.

Also, thought Utd had a very good shout turned down in the first half - looked like Doherty handled the ball off an Arabs players head from a delivery into the box?

Don't think the ref had all that bad a game TBH. He had already waved away really obvious fouls where players were getting clearly pushed over. The only issue that I had with the ref, is that he was a bit nippy in booking Doherty but didn't do the same for Gary McKay-Stevens who to me, spent the whole game continually fouling. McKay-Stevens was superb today though. A class apart I thought.

I thought the second goal was offside, agree about the ref missing some fairly obvious fouls but he was far from the worst ref we've had this season.

Never a penalty and I don't think Griffiths claimed very much IIRC.

I thought he was onside when the ball was played, a well timed run. The replay will probably show I am totally wrong though. :greengrin
