How many have (a) Messi and (b) Scott got in their last 92 league games (ie excluding Scott's brace against Berwick)?

How many did Messi score today though?

One, and carried his 10-man team to an away victory. Did Ronald McDonald do that? :dunno:

:agree:

It's a pity that some people on here cannot applaud any achievement by players without having to compare them with other World Class players just because they play for a team that they don't like. Sad bassa's !

Ronaldo has a great goals per game record since moving to Real Madrid

Messi has a great goals to game ratio playing for Barcelona FC

They are both WORLD CLASS Players who ply their trade for the two biggest clubs in Spain.

At least Messi has a chance of being the world's best ever whereas Ronaldo does not

:agree: no need to bring Messi into this.

No-one can deny Ronaldo is a brilliant player, despite being a bit of a knob. Nothing to do with Messi. Very few players in the world could manage to reach that feat. Lets just appreciate the fact we are witnessing two of the greatest players for a long long time, at the same time, in the same league.

There was some doubt initially with Alexis being credited but he didn't touch the ball and the ref confirmed it was Messi that scored

wtf does that have to do with Ronaldo's goal scoring achievement though ?

BOTH great players who have achieved much in their careers - no need to say who YOU think might have a chance of being the best ever.

Dont think the OP asked who was the better player of the two

Thanks for biting

You're right of course that Ronaldo's achievement is outstanding and worthy of celebration :agree:

The 'catch' in my post was that it's not MY view on him never being the best the world has ever seen but those 'experts' who say you have to win a World Cup to achieve that accolade. Argentina have a chance whereas Portugal is a long shot at best :greengrin

As it happens I think both Messi and Ronaldo are fantastic but ~I confess I prefer the wee Argentine

He is without doubt a better player than when he played in Manchester.

Which is how incredible the whole situation is.

Bare with me, this IS a Messi/Ronaldo post so feel free to keep scrolling.

Ronaldo was the best player in the world when he was at Manchester United (yes, better than Messi). He picked up the Ballon d'Or in 2008 ahead of him.

There is no doubt that Ronaldo has improved drastically since his time in Manchester.

This is (one of the reasons) why Messi is considered a class above, he was not as good a player as Ronaldo a few years back and while Ronaldo has improved significantly, Messi has taken the whole game by storm and surpassed him dramatically.

Messi is the best player in the world, possibly the best ever. But anyone who doubts that Ronaldo is world class and will appear on many professionals (past, present and furture) favourite XI is tainted by the very easy ability to hate him for being a little bit of a cocky barsteward.

I'm just glad we get to watch talents like these two. Complete joy to watch. :agree:

A couple loan deals wouldn't hurt Rod.
