...we need to focus on our youth for next year, really use East Mains to our advantage. Ditch the journeymen, get the Booths, Handlings, Caldwells, Stantons etc. playing first team football, and get them playing proper football when they're at the age that they're young enough to not be stuck in their ways. Passing football, starting from the back. Getting stuck in, defending as a team, attacking as a team.

If we're relegated we may be forced to do this, if we stay up then we have to get rid of players who care not one jot how Hibernian FC play or have played.

I don't want the club playing young players for the sake of it. If they're good enough, fine. If not, they shouldn't be playing.

There's a chance they won't be good enough.

But its a certainty that the current batch arent.

NH are they winning the U19's league ?......they're not even good enough for that, and you want them in the first team ?.....not having a pop, but think about it ?....
We could only contemplate that if we were relegated....try bringing in youngsters in the SPL and we'd defo be down next season. (where are the majority of our double winning players now ?)....IMHO there is a HUGE gap to premier league standard. Hibs need to sign a raft of experienced first team players and the odd youngster, to bring them on gradually.
Part of our problem is we sign dross.....

It's not always a case of signing dross.

We do sign some decent players (and their quality is usually evident for the first few weeks) then they quite simply look as if they don't want to be here anymore. As soon as they leave, they come good again.

I think we should be trying to find out why this is, instead of ripping into them all the time.

But that would be too sensible for us.

Agree that youth players should be given an opportunity but as its been mentioned by a previous poster not just throwing them in for the sake of it. A couple of mis-placed passes when were playing at home would absolutely destroy their confidence knowing the way our fans have been acting towards our players thus far this season, would take a very very strong character with huge self-belief to be able to ignore the abuse theyd get hurled their way, and from how it looks most of our first team dont have that right now let alone our youth squad.

There are promising signs looking at the youth players just now. Although no guarantee to lead to quality 1st team player. Have always said if your good enough then your old enough
