East coast are running a £25 each way in first class deal that will be valid over the semi-final weekend.

The only train on the Friday that it is still valid for is the one that leave LKC at 2pm, so I'm on that.

I'm on the 2.30 back down on Monday, same deal, but a lot more trains are valid for the deal on that day.

Have posted likewise in the LHSC forum, but thought it should get a bit more exposure on here!!

Let me know if you end up on one or both of these trains - I'll be the handsome chap with - at least - a 6 pack (of beer) in my grubby mitts.

You mean ticket prices for the game? It'll be between £25-30, with posh seats about £30-£35.

Dont forget that the food and drink is free in 1st Class. Generally only get 1 drink between each station so you'll probably need the 6 pack to fill in the gaps:party:

Oh boy, this rather changes the complexion of my planned trip up. I was thinking of going easy on the sauce until the Saturday.

Oh well :cheers::drunk:

On East Coast, you do in first class. In standard you get 15 minutes free.

Sadly the £25 tickets appear to have gone - website is now quoting £72.55 for the 1pm and £96 for the 2pm - still not bad tho'. Or is there a different bit of the East Coast site with the special offers on?

Cheers! Looks like they've all gone - but I did get one (cheapish) for first class on the 1pm train from Kings Cross on the 13th. So if anyone else is booked on that one we can have a complementary beer or three...
