My Team for Sunday with it in mind that Ozzy and Ivan are suspended, hopefully Soares will be fit, he travelled with the team to Ayr so he can't have missed out by much.

I prefer Brown but do expect Stack to start, I do like O'Donovan but O'Connors record against Hearts is excellent and would get the nod for me.

We need to keep a consistent team. Francomb was excellent last week so lets not move him. Agree that Kujabi can sometimes get caught out. But he is our best option. play a 4-3-2-1 with both Soares and Griffiths tracking back to help a sitting midfield 3. We have good options on the bench in Docherty, GOC and Doyle. Go at them like St Mirren did and they don't like it.

Reasons behind leaving O'Donovan out is that against Hearts we simply get outfought in the midfield. The midfield 4 are all solid, hardworking and good enough on the ball to win the battle. Soares can play a free role, making him hard to pick up and he has the ability (like Griffiths) to do something class when on the ball. Griffiths with his movement won't end up in any Hearts defenders pockets which O'Donovan, Doyle and O'connor may IMO. Doherty adds a bit more aerial steel to the back 4, and stevenson can protect Kujabi if he wants to roll forward. If it's not going to play we have a pretty talented bench full of attacking players to change it about.

We need to remember that in our position a point from Tynie would be an important and welcome one. We've got next season and/or the Scottish Cup final for handing out beatings. If we go there and beat them i'll be delighted, but we must ensure we get at least a point.

Really like that team and formation. Will only work if you have two willing runners playing off the front man to stop it turning into either a 451 (ROD isolated) or a 433 (too adventurous for tynecastle). Soares and :giruy: are ideal for that role.

We've been so negative in recent derbies, so I'd go a 4-3-3 formation, with O'Connor holding the ball up, and playing it through to the pace of Griffiths or the vision of Doyle.

Skacel is often pulling out wide to the left and is one of their main threats and I think Stevenson could keep him quiet. I'm confident in the defence. Can't see Beattie getting much of a sniff with the defensive qualities of James McPake.

I was going to ask how he has been doing. I know earlier in the season he had been struggling but wondered with improved players around him if it had been positive for him.

I was impressed when he played for under 21's where he seems to play a much more attacking role.
