Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Germany striker Lukas Podolski from Cologne, BBC Sport understands.
Reports suggest the Gunners will pay £10.9m for the 26-year-old on a four-year contract worth £100,000 a week.

Deal has already been done according to German journalists.

Raphael Honigstein is saying on Twitter that once you include signing-on fee and add-ons, it's more like £140k per week.

Good player, and currently in great scoring form in a pish team, but jeezo...

Since when did Arsenal start paying 100k a week salaries? I thought they had a strict wage structure, or was that pre Emirates Stadium stuff?

They're going to have to start paying silly money if they want to get in the Champions League, or even keep Van Persie. They've fallen out of title contention in the last few years and they're no longer a given for the top 4. If they qualify for the CL it probably makes economic sense.

Some people were saying they made panic buys after getting pumped by Man U.

i wonder if this signing will be seen as 1 of intent towards showing RVP they mean business or is he RVP's replacement :dunno:, good signing nevertheless, shame its the defence needs players though :rolleyes:
