Anyone watching?

A fantastic open game, currently 1-1 on aggregate after 15 minutes of extra time.

APOEL fans have been outstanding throughout.

Looking like penalties. Mon APOEL!!! To see a team from a country like Cyprus at this stage is fantastic. :agree: Take note Motherwell. :greengrin

APOEL started their European campaign in July in Albania, they are now a penalty shoot-out away from the quarter-finals.

Fair play to them, what an adventure. Amazing to think that such a small country has a team this far still in the competition.

Been too a few APOEL games over the years. Supporters bus leaves Happy Jacks in Limassol. Always a good trip and made to feel welcome. Did have to go through airport scanners to get into a game against a Israeli side once.

I appreciate that Messi will dominate the headlines tomorrow after yet another astonishing performance and generally being amazing at football, but a club of this size reaching the quarter-finals of a tournament that is basically rigged against teams like them really ought to be the top story.

i think i heard on the commentary that they had 42000 there - great effort.

Anyone see the sub or ball boy jump on the pile of players after the last penalty save, and miss? :faf:

What an achievement for a Cypriot team. The club will make a fortune from this run.

Agree completely. They have an avg gate of under 10000 and their record transfer fee is £800k. Comparable to Hibs, and theyre in the quarters of the Champions League. Superb.
