I get a season ticket, not for what's in it for me, but to ensure the football club will be there to give the same passion and enjoyment to future generations as it does for me.
Use it or lose it guys...
How about the football club do something to ensure future generations want to give the same passion and get enjoyment out of supporting them?

Having received the E-Mail on Monday building up he new season ticket deal, I was waiting in anticipation for the details to arrive into my inbox yesterday, and when it failed to arrive , I searched the Hibernian site to find out what exciting offers we were getting, only to be totally under whelmed.
Free kids tickets? Yes if you move to the FF lower and your kid is under 11 and if you are lucky enough to be in the first 500.
Free Hibs kit? Now changed to a free home top if you buy an away top.
Prices frozen? Not if you pay by payment plan, the actually increase by £30
Free Old Firm tickets? Why would I want another ticket when I already have a season ticket? If a mate wants to go let him pay for his ticket like I had to. So how is it worth up to £112 to me?
I think Hibs have missed a trick by not following the lead of other SPL clubs and introducing a "cat B" season ticket for people not able to attended fixtures that have been moved from 3PM Saturday's.
We had one of the top priced season tickets last season and the number of season ticket holders dropped from the previous season's, with the stadium now complete I am able to walk up and pay for entry to any game and guarantee a seat for myself and disabled son, [who because of his disability is not always able to make the games any way]. And if I miss 2 games I am not out of pocket.
I await your spin when replying that a free cup top up is included, what if we do not have a cup tie at home?
This season already you have introduced a membership scheme for £20 which entitled the holder to free entry into a cat B game and a cat A game for £20,with no booking fee's on home or away ticket's, what benefits did season ticket holders receive? That's right none.
I cannot see me renewing my 2 season ticket's for the coming season as there are no benefits for me, and sadly I do not think I will be alone, the product is not there 2 league win this season so far at home, tell's it own story.
:agree: After being a season ticket holder for about 25 years, that pretty much sums up my feelings.
I know Hibs have "frozen" the price, but the bottom line is, for myself and my son to renew our £430 tickets, it is going to cost another £35 each taking out the payment plan. :roll eyes:
Edit,- oh, and eh, Free kids tickets, it is only the first 250 "packages"

You're right - I think they should do stuff like build a new stadium and training facility, and spend every penny possible on the team. That would make a difference.

My day after having slept on it thought is this....
If I had received the ST offer in full in the mail / email - I would have looked at it and thought...pretty much same as last year...with a couple of additional offers that I may or may not use / be of benefit.. Likely result renewal
BUT - after the Monday email I was delighted at the prospect of free 'Kids' (also forgetting the already split with kids / futures) and free top (brothers birthday sorted)...and the chance to give some free tickets to visitors to Edinburgh..(we have yet to see the qualifications on that)
So I end up feeling that I have been given something and then had it snatched away...
Its also made me look at the real detail of value in ST (few years back when walk up was £20 ST equated to £15 per match - a decent reward ratio) and have come to the conclusion that it will cost me more for matches I actually attend than walk up would...
Also all the moaning about cost of payment plan caused a sudden Eureka moment...for years I have in effect given the club an interest free loan of several hundred pounds which they in effect repay by means of match entry whether I am able to attend matches, that I have no control of sheduled time of, or not. So the ST costs me more than walk up even if I goto every game (which I can't) due to loss of interest on keeping my wedge in the bank and using to PATG....
I never feel the need to shell out £40/50 quid on a football top / much in the same way as I wouldnt spend money on 'food' in ground Kiosks when the same would get me a real meal in a restaurant (don't do McDonalds etc for same reason) so thats not a draw
Cup Top Up I used to also 'invest' in at £45 a season - so getting it added WAS great - until last 2 years of £10 deals to get into some of those
My girls were dumped in the Futures cat. 2010/2011 season and as they only come to keep their Dad Company - cant see this continuing (put it this way - Do you want a ST...or do you want £120 per year towards...X ...X would get the vote) So 'Free' Kids is no Draw..
Thinking about Free OF Tickets - I dont do Sunday Lunch games - I have other important things to be doing then, so it would be a bit ironic to have 'free' (if the really are ) tickets for games I have paid for and can't goto...that is assuming 2 other things..the SPL has 2 OF teams in it....and We are actually in same part of league as them post split...
Really looking forward to going to Ayr in early spring...Cup romance etc....But if I don't have a ST in freezing early december for a 12.30pm Sat KO against ICT...am I really going to drag myself - let alone kids there..
Questions questions....

You're right - I think they should do stuff like build a new stadium and training facility, and spend every penny possible on the team. That would make a difference.
They've done that instead of spending every penny on the team and look at the nick of whats been on the park since HTC & the new East was built..
Motherwell are doing alright on the park with a pretty shabby stadium & training setup...
The training centre has ZERO direct inpact to the fans and since the new East was built attendences have fallen...
If the product on the pitch was better the attendences would be a fair bit different...
Then in turn the increased attendences would have generated more income so they ST prices could be a bit more competitive, rather than leaving them as 1 of the dearest in the league to watch the 2nd worst team in the league...

A good manager will do well, that is true, however the likelihood of him doing well when he has to rebuild on the scale that Fenlon has to rebuild, with a hugely limited budget, is greatly diminished.
If we, like Motherwell, were only needing to add one or two new faces to the team then I'd agree with you.
IMHO, we are at a point where we'd need to outspend Motherwell just to have a chance of catching up with them.
We will outspend Motherwell, we always do. Just how much more should we outspend clubs before we start to see a difference?
I'd rather our manager showed what he's made of with the kind of budget we have, rather than start the slippery slope of spending much more than we can afford, remembering we actually lost money last year.
I hope more folk sign up for a new season ticket, but i think we both know thats not going to happen.
People will come back when they see a better product, folk are living in dreamland if they think we are suddenly going to have a rise in season ticket sales after what we have had to endure over the last couple of seasons.
These are the facts, we now have to get on with it and hope we at last have a manager who can manage his budget better than the last few managers.
It's not the cost or the way it's been dressed up, KO times, free tickets for kids, strips etc that I have issues with none of that bothers me - its the team on the park and the attitude of the players who for most of the season just didn't seem to care or perform to levels that are acceptable to me.
I will renew this season as I think Pat has something about him that will be displayed in his teams and I think he will get us back up the league.
If we are winning fans will come, no great secret about that, its just we were not winning and the football was dire that has caused fans to say enough is enough.

The price has been frozen, its the finance company which has imposed the charge and who will receive the money involved. I seem to remember this season there were numerous threads about people cancelling their direct debits for the payment plan. Not only will this have cost the club money in terms of ongoing finance, it will have cost them time in terms of staff having to deal with the administration of the cancelled direct debits. Using the finance company (who will pursue cancelled direct debits) ensures Hibs receive guaranteed money whether up front or throughout the season.
How is it misleading, you still get a free top. The email yesterday clearly said "log on to hibernianfc.co.uk tomorrow for the full package and terms and conditions." there was nothing misleading in the email. Do you normally buy a shirt? Use the free one as a present, or split the cost with a friend who would also normally buy one, this will save you both £15. Make the free shirt a youth top or kids top and give it to one of your kids?
As above, the email clearly stated to "log on to hibernianfc.co.uk tomorrow for the full package and terms and conditions." the only reason you feel misled is because you have made an assumption without seeing the full facts. I tend to agree with those that have said that this offer should be unlimited and not confined to one area of the stadium as the kids are the future supporters of the club. If you can get them along to games and get them and their parents into the habit of buying season tickets it can only be good in the long run.
Better atmosphere at the games, possibility of getting a financial contribution from your mates for the tickets? If your mate gives you £10 for each ticket then there's the cost of the finance charge on the payment plan paid for already.
It may not be the best offer for you, but there will be a lot of people who this will be a great deal for. You can't please all of the people all of the time.
As above, no lies involved. The email clearly stated "log on to hibernianfc.co.uk tomorrow for the full package and terms and conditions." I don't understand why people want to paint hibs in as bad a light as possible by calling them liars when all they are trying to do is maximise income for the club whilst also giving a good package to season ticket holders. We may not agree with everything they decide to do, and it is perfectly reasonable to disagree or be annoyed that they haven't quite got a package tailored to suit your precise needs, however claiming they are lying to you is a bit extreme.
For the record I am not a season ticket holder because of where time pressures, where I live and the travel involved and having a young family however, if I was in Edinburgh and I could afford it, this would be a great deal for me.
This is approximately what I would spend if I was able to get a season ticket and go to the games:
Cost of family season ticket and payment plan - £380 (+interest approx £31)
Cup top up - £45 a few years ago
Family Hibs kid ticket - £85 (+interest approx £7)
Adult top - £35
Kids top - £30
Total - £613
Average per ticket per game (not including cup games) - approx £16
Under the current deal (if I got in early enough) it would cost:
Cost of family season ticket and payment plan - £380 (+interest approx £31)
Cup top up - Free
Family Hibs kid ticket - Free
Adult top - £35
Kids top - Free (if junior tops are included in the offer)
Total - £446
Average per ticket per game (not including cup games) - approx £12
Plus I could take my dad along to the old firm matches for free, or get a mate to come with me who can contribute to the cost of the tickets and reduce the cost further.

:top marks(especially for the highlighted bit at the end there).
The club have relied on it being slightly cheaper for a season ticket over walk up and on people renewing out of habit for too long now. Now there is no real saving, and people are far more likely to miss out on games because of the ridiculous time rescheduling for TV. Half our home games so far this season have not been at 3pm on a Saturday.
In fact, if we ended up bottom six next year and walk up prices didn't go up, then we'll have four category A games at £28 and fifteen (max, possibly fourteen dependent on post split fixtures) category B games at £22, so if you paid at the gate for every game it would cost you £442 (for 19 home games, £420 for 18 home games), against a season ticket cost of £438 if you're paying by the payment plan.
And that's not taking into account any of the offers they've done this year e.g. £20 for a category A game and then a further game cheap on the 'Club Membership'. You could actually argue that it would be more cost effective to pay walk up, which is ridiculous.

Unfortunately the one thing that the club cannot guarantee is a winning team, and that is the one thing that would seem to make you want to buy a season ticket.

I've always been one to renew regardless, even if I knew I would miss several games a season.
Seeing the words 'Season Ticket Membership' did have the familiar tug at the heartstrings, but am staying true to my word and sentiment can't come into it this time.
I'm averaging 1 day off every couple of weeks and now work most weekends. Nevertheless, on those days I've had off, have until recently had no motivation to go along and watch Hibs. I was one for attending every away game as well prior to this season and that's now been cut to just Dunfermline, Dundee Utd, St Johnstone and Inverness games providing I'm day off. The Celtic game was my first game in 4 months so thinking realistically, the value for money just isn't there with a season ticket given how many games I'll likely miss due to working commitments.
The 'incentives' they've included, bar the cup top up, wouldn't affect me anyway, and would be losing out through the payment plan as I'd have no chance of paying the full amount up front. Due to where my current seat is, I'm pretty much guaranteed to get that seat through walk up anyway so not losing out there.
I'm a long standing season ticket holder and it does pain me to give it all up, but everything considered, it's just not a viable option now. Sorry Hibs.

Just looking at this in more detail as I really wanted my kids to join me in the FF upper next season:
FF lower adult = £355
FF upper adult = £380 so 6.6% more than the lower
FF lower kids = £60
FF upper kids = £85 so 41.6% more than the lower!
How can they justify this and still expect to attract kids?

I'm not sure if I'm misreading the details, bit I'm pretty certain there is a bit of waffle about how we all want to see a full stadium when the OF come to Easter Road then the next sentence offers us a free ticket to ALL SPL games against Rangers and Celtic. Surely a misprint

The deal is offering a ticket for a friend when we play old firm at home, there was something Today about trying to get people out of pubs and into the stands....Not sure of the benefits to Hibs by using this ploy, unless they hope that the lapsed fans are caught by the hype and want to return:rolleyes:

Not for me im afraid 445 last year for me and my son over 500 this year are kids not our future support??? First time in 10 years i wont have a season and im gutted but the misleading statements coming from hibs is enough for me and im not the only one, season ticket sales will be at an all time low if the poll is anything to go by so not that good a deal as hibs are making it out to be once again loyalty counts for nothing, its not as though we have a full house every home game, i will just pick and choose my games now and spend the early kick offs on sat and sunday watching on tv not what i want to do but i have no incentive to buy a season now im now just another one who wont be renewing not that hibs will bother.

IMO Hibs must canvass all season ticket holders who do not renew, and ascertain why exactly....Money and kick off times are just two of the reasons, and they must learn from the feedback received.

My e-mail sent to the Board.
I just wanted to express my disappointment at the pricing and benefits (of which all have catches) on the season tickets for season 2012/13.
I have held a season ticket for a number of years and I have attended games at Easter Road for at least 30 years.
Over the past few years I have used the Interest Free Payment Plan to help make supporting Hibernian more affordable as having 2 son's who also have Season Tickets it is a huge financial commitment for me.
Last season I was hit with the 'Futures' scheme which added additional cost to my tickets and next season I face the prospect of adding the additional cost of the interest on the new payment plan.
I have no requirement for Free Hibs Kid tickets, Hibs tops (but only if I spend £40 on another one) or free tickets for games played at a ridiculous time of the day that are live on the TV package I already pay for. I actually think the free ticket offer is demeaning to the real supporters who support the club and spend their hard earned cash every other week.
There is also no guarantee that the season ticket will be for SPL football as we are in such a precarious position at the moment, how would you justify the season ticket cost & fulfil the 'Free Old Firm tickets' if we are in the 1st Division.
I am currently in two minds whether or not I will renew my 3 tickets as opposed to just paying on the day if I wish to go along, there is literally no financial benefit to me in having a season ticket now.
Please read the discussion threads on Hibs.Net and you will get an understanding of the general feeling amongst the support of how unhappy & disappointed they are with the season ticket deal and the marketing stunt used.
I fully expect our neighbours across the city will provide a much better deal for their supporters and they are still competing for European places, not fighting relegation year on year.
Please go back to the drawing board & start thinking about real way's of filling the stadium and not just punishing the loyal supporter with additional financial outlay.
What about a free Child (under 5) with every adult ticket, 3 season tickets for the price of 2 (lowest priced free), 2 futures tickets for £175, 3 for 250 etc or even get the interest free scheme back.

I dont know by how much they'd improve, but there's no doubt in my mind they would. We'd obviously lose the tv deal, or at least have a smaller one, but crowds are getting smaller and smaller under this deal.
The tv deal only really helps the old firm, its more of a hindrance to the rest of us it seems, and it wont be long before every week the old firm will have more fans at their away games than home fans.
Tv imo is not the answer, its actually killing the game. And when the grounds are even emptier than they are now, just how much will sky want to pay in the future, when their product is showing 3 sides of the ground virtually empty?

Relying on that for people to renew/get a ST

Absolute belter by the board again, they always seem to come up with a variety of ***** that we can criticise.
I'll be a ST holder but only because of the student prices.
The cost to watch Hibs is shocking.

Agree with all of the above as I was hit by the Futures being introduced last season and I paid using the the interest free plan as well. The jump in cost with of the payment plan with interest I think is step too far and as I normally miss a couple of games, I'm going to be paying more than if I walk up. However the more I've been thinking about this, the bit in bold probably annoys me more than anything else and I believe is a real kick in the teeth for ST holders as well as maybe affecting ST sales. I've already had one mate saying that if I don't renew this season, I can have his free tickets for the OF games. Now it makes no sense for me to buy a ST.

You know what, stuff this season ticket malarkey.
Hibs - listen - Put a bloody DD form onto the web site and aim to get 6000 fans to sign up for life for a set fee each month. Exactly like we get for gym memberships, call it £35 a month for adults and it never ends. Add a 3 months cancellation penalty.
Send out a membership card and use the database to pre load all the games.
Keep it freakin simple, clear and part of a fans monthly outgoings.

Response from Fife regarding the e-mail I sent yesterday. Draw your own conclusions.
Thank you for your email regarding season ticket membership 2012/13. The Club has received lots of positive feedback on the offers and sales are good. The membership pack will be delivered to supporters over the next week.
The Club has worked hard under a very challenging climate for us all, to develop offers that appeal to our wide and diverse supporter base. I appreciate not all the offers suit each individual circumstance, however, as a Club we have focused on addressing issues raised by supporters and priorities for the Club to ensure we cover as much as possible.
Pricing we have held the price of a season ticket at the same level since 2008. Since then there has also been a VAT rise which the Club has not passed on to supporters, but has instead, absorbed itself this equates to c.£10 on a full price adult ticket. Reducing pricing does not mean more supporters will attend matches we have historical and industry evidence to support that, from season ticket membership and individual game promotions. What does increase attendances is a winning team, and Pat Fenlon is the man who will deliver that. Reducing pricing reduces the level of investment in the team and player budget. Every penny from season ticket membership is invested in the team, and members dictate directly as to how big that budget is. We have focused on adding value for season ticket members. The free Cup Top Up for example allowed an extra 3 games free this season, including one against Celtic every game at Easter Road in the league and cups is covered by the season ticket, which is rare in Scottish football. Additionally we continue to offer family pricing and discounts throughout the stadium and over 76% of the season ticket base purchase through that discounted or concession rate.
Kids - The free kids ticket is an improved offer from the £19 ticket we had last season, and follows exactly the same terms and conditions. This is in addition to the Hibs Kids scheme where kids get 4 games a season as well as Manager newsletters, pantomimes, football tournaments at HTC and discounts in the Clubstore all for a £10 annual fee. The Club also offers up to 500 free tickets at Cat B matches to different charities and community groups in Edinburgh via the Hibernian Community Foundation. We are working hard to get the next generation of supporters, and those that are currently disadvantaged in the local area to come along to Easter Road.
Payment plan to date, Hibernian was the only Club in the SPL that was managing and administering an interest free plan at its own expense and resource. Over the past year, the Club has had to make redundancies and cutbacks in staffing across all departments, including the finance team. Managing the payment plan is a resource intensive task, and one we can no longer staff, therefore, like most of the SPL teams, we have partnered with Zebra finance, who are the market leaders in providing such a service for football supporters so have an excellent acceptance rate. Yes, there is a charge (that does not come to the Club) for that service as there is for any finance deal, but we were adamant we wanted to maintain the 11 month payment schedule for supporters rather than drop it all together. The Club has to adapt and focus on activity it can deliver with the reduced resource and cost base available.
Free tickets for Old Firm matches consistent feedback from supporters regarding the changes to kick off times is in line with our own frustrations. Hibernian did not vote for the new TV deal, and will continue to work with broadcasters and the SPL on kick off times. In the meantime, we want the stadium full for games versus the Old Firm, and are offering season ticket members the chance to bring a friend or to introduce someone to Easter Road. I am sorry if you do not see the benefit to you and the team on the pitch the Manager wants an intimidating atmosphere, and we all want to beat Rangers and Celtic. We are as fed up of the movement of KOs for TV games as supporters are and want to address that by encouraging as many to attend as possible.
Free shirt offer we wanted to help address the cost of supporters buying new kits every season by introducing a 2 for 1 offer on the new shirts.
Booking fees again we listened to supporters and removed the booking fees for away matches in the SPL.
All offers and promotions aside, as said above, we all know that a winning and entertaining team will provide the reason for supporters to return to Easter Road, and providing that is our sole focus. We understand that results and performances over the past while have been disappointing, although recently we are seeing the emergence of a stronger force on the pitch with plenty to play for this season. The Manager recognises this in his message in the membership pack you will receive in the next week and he also outlines his ambitions and plans for the future of the Club. He stresses the importance you play in that as he rebuilds in the summer, and continues the improvements we have all seen in the squad.
I hope the above addresses the points raised in your email and thanks again for writing in, and for your support.

We all know that one off cuts don't entice more fans Fife, we also have evidence that by cutting significant ST prices for adults it will sell more tickets and balance the books but at the same time filling the stadium.

Thank's for the much anticipated bog standard reply, the spin doctors have been working wonders, yes there is no doubt that season ticket sales will happen, but I also have no doubt that sales will be well down on last season's, you say you are listening to the supporters, but you are not acting on the supporters suggestion's, if you read the message board's Hibs.net, Hibeesbounce and Real Hibs.net you will see that nobody is raving about these deal's, in fact it is the exact opposite.
Your reply never answered my question's, any chance you could do so now?
Why no "cat B" season ticket?
Why was the proposed KIT changed from a kit to a shirt if you buy one first?
What benefit do I get from an Old firm ticket? what if we are relegated and there is no old firm games?
Prizes frozen ? not true last season a new pricing band was brought in for futures and disabled fan's thats not freezing prices.
Booking fee's ? Season ticket holders have had to pay for them all season yet members get them free, is that fair?
One question that I forgot to add in my original e-mail, if we are relegated will the prices remain at SPL level or is there a season ticket plan B?
I await a personal reply instead of a bog standard spin loaded one
Cheers

I could have drawn my own conclusions on this without even having the need to have read it, predictable stuff indeed. It is staggering just how spectacularly out of touch the club have become with the support.
Response from Fife regarding the e-mail I sent yesterday. Draw your own conclusions.
Thank you for your email regarding season ticket membership 2012/13. The Club has received lots of positive feedback on the offers and sales are good. The membership pack will be delivered to supporters over the next week.
This positive feedback seems to be contrary to anecdotal evidence and that which i have read on here.
It's high time the club started appreciating that this challenging climate they operate in is not some sort of vacuum that they alone find themselves in, the people they expect to buy season tickets also have to work hard under a very challenging climate.
Perhaps i am incredibly unlucky in that not one of these offers is of any real benefit or holds any great appeal to me
Pricing we have held the price of a season ticket at the same level since 2008. Since then there has also been a VAT rise which the Club has not passed on to supporters, but has instead, absorbed itself this equates to c.£10 on a full price adult ticket. I may be wrong, and stand to be corrected, but i am fairly positive my season ticket has not been the same price since 2008. What is irrefutable is that last season it cost me £405 on an 11 month payment plan whereas this season it would cost me £437.96. Regardless of where that money is going, in real terms that is an increase in cost to the consumer.
Whilst the cup top up is undoubtedly a pleasant bonus i really can't see any incentive for me, as one of the 24% who pay full whack, to get one this season.
We are working hard to get the next generation of supporters, and those that are currently disadvantaged in the local area to come along to Easter Road.
It's admirable and entirely necessary that they do their best to capture the next generation, but has it completely escaped them that they are losing the current one at an alarming rate. A bit of focus on addressing why that is happening wouldn't go amiss.
Payment plan to date, Hibernian was the only Club in the SPL that was managing and administering an interest free plan at its own expense and resource. Over the past year, the Club has had to make redundancies and cutbacks in staffing across all departments, including the finance team. That is patronising rubbish and again off course i understand the benefit to the team on the pitch but i fail to see what benefit is there to me for a free ticket for someone else.
Free shirt offer we wanted to help address the cost of supporters buying new kits every season by introducing a 2 for 1 offer on the new shirts.
As someone who outgrew the wearing of football strips a long, long time ago there is no issue to address in respect the cost of new strips for me.
Booking fees again we listened to supporters and removed the booking fees for away matches in the SPL.
a minor irritant in the grand scheme of things and hardly a deal breaker, really

The transaction fees might be a minor irritant to you but to those of us who have no choice but to buy online or by phone for away games it has been a grudged expense. Most welcome in our household.:greengrin
Obviously I am swimming against the tide here but I don't think that the club got this too wrong. The 'teaser' announcment was a mistake as it did lead to false expectations. The free shirt thing turned out to be a buy one get one free deal which is not the same thing and should never have been advertised as such. Given that the free tickets for kids was limited to the FF stand it might have been better to reword that one. It's good that they are trying to pack the FF lower again, a case of the club doing the right thing but managing to portay it as a bad thing. The fact that the club are no longer providing interest free loans does make perfect sense to me though. I can understand the resentment at a freebie like that being withdrawn but why should Hibs effectively pay the interest on our loans? Like everybody else I would love it if my ticket was a couple of hundred quid cheaper. If the club can do that whilst Pat Fenlon gets the players in he wants for next season then great. I doubt that would be possible though.

It could be argued that buying an ST is an interest-free loan to the club, seeing as the complete value of the ST won't be realised until next May.

Yes there is. That's the first question I asked when I phoned the ticket office the day the announcement was made. Pretty silly really as tbh it's a lot easier for me paying £80 a month for a year than a lump sum of £810 in the next 3 weeks

Nope, I'm planning on applying for the payment plan option but can't until Hibs post out the forms. Why's it taking so long? Third class stamps most probably.
You can print the forms straight off the website. I've already handed my PP application in.

Hibs - listen - Put a bloody DD form onto the web site and aim to get 6000 fans to sign up for life for a set fee each month. Exactly like we get for gym memberships, call it £35 a month for adults and it never ends. Add a 3 months cancellation
Keep it freakin simple, clear and part of a fans monthly outgoings.
This is how I pay for my season ticket at St James'.
£42 a month DD which includes the Club Membership Card and the annual benefits that's included with that.

Got mine through the post yesterday (Thursday) Thing is I dont need it as I bought a three year ST and it is still valid for next season.
I think Hibs are sending them out in order of importance as Im an uber fan thats why I got mine first :-)
DOH! Just read the enclosed letter and it is for multi year ST holders. It also explains that we will get the cup top up and the free OF tickets. Also enclosed is a 2 for 1 shirt voucher.

I wonder if the three year season ticket is one of the reasons that Hibs did not offer a reduction in price on the back of 2 really bad seasons?

Brilliant idea. Just pay over 12 months every year and unless you cancel just keep on going. I would definitely go for this.

Will be moving back to my beloved FF next season from the East ....... Yipee !!!
It will save me a fortune. I sometimes take my niece at £12 a pop, but now I can take her for nothing. I also sometimes pay my stepson into games so the free OF tickets will come in handy. I usually buy my niece and nephew a Hibs top each during the season. Also I dont get the cup top up
East ST = £405
4 X £12 for niece = £48
2 x £27 for stepson = £54
2 X Hibs tops = £80
3 x cup games approx £45 ( at £15 per match )
Total £632.00
Took the early bird package for FF with free kids ticket, free home top and free cup top up.
FF ST = £355
One away top £40
Total £395.00
Saving ...................... £237.00

Slightly off topic but I got my renewal through today and it has dropped by £30 to £270 for the Wheatfield. My son's is £200 for over 12's so works out at £14 for me and a tenner for him. First got him hooked when it was £19 a season so can fully understand why Hibs are almost giving away tickets for youngsters. They are the future and I know when he was 7 or 8 my spending at catering at the game far outweighed my £1 a game season ticket for him.
There will always be ways for clubs to sell it to the public so it sounds cheaper. I remeber hearing Rod a few weeks ago on the tv debate championing the £12 a game season ticket, sounded great but there are savings to be had if you bring kids etc but for a basic season ticket I think £270 is good value. We don't do cup top ups which I feel is a miss and def leads to poor home cup crowds.
This low price however is probably just a cunning plan to renew early to pay the players this month's wages:wink:
It will rise probably by about £30 each in early May

The more I think of it the more it makes sense just to remove ST's altogether and just revert to a monthly payment which gets you entry to Easter Road.
No annual sales pitch, fans don't need to renew and make a decision every spring on whether to support the team the following campaign or not.
C'mon Fife, you read this site and have said previously that you wanted to make it part of the families monthly outgoings.
Sell club memberships at £35 a month for adults and £15 for kids.

A ST J fan I know says that loads of their ST holders were declined credit by Zebra, the club contacted Zebra with a list of supporters who hadn't defaulted payments previously and these fans were accepted.

I reckon Hibs have ballsed up the season ticket proposition massively this year. Very disappointing prices, added to the interest bearing payment plan, a lack of flexibility in the pricing - we should really have areas in the ground that are significantly cheaper than others as some bits provide a better viewpoint, for instance.
I would think that Hibs must have had focus groups to get feedback and insight into what fans wanted from season tickets, however they've clearly not done enough as I'm really struggling to see what the real tangible benefits are for getting one.
If it wasn't for the fact that I know that the season tickets sales are vital to the club, there'd be a very strong argument to being a walk-up supporter.
I would think the Board are going to have to make a big play on just how vital these sales are to the club's ability to compete in the SPL if they're going to shift them in any sort of volume. The ironic thing is that it's probably now that the club need us to dip our hands in our pockets again the most, that folk are at their least likely to do it, and it's not helped by a very poorly thought out and presented season ticket proposition.

Anyone esle having problems in renewing online today?
I am trying to renew for my grandson and me. It is recognising both of us, but won't allow me to assign both to me for payment.
Since they stopped managing this direct by Hibs, and left it to Ticketmaster it has been very poor for service.
Looks like I'll have to give up and renew by 'phone - which i don't like doing!

No wonder they sell more season tickets than us, very good prices, if we matched that i think we could punt as many as they do no problem, our board are virtually chasing people away from ER imho.

Yes, we should be following the Yams strategy right enough. That way we might one day, if we're lucky, end up in a position where we can't pay our players.

As far as I can see, based on similar seat, my adult and child ticket (costing around £500 if paid up) would be just £320 at Tynecastle!
How can a price difference of £180 be justified??

It's justified by them being massively in debt and not paying wages in time. You're not comparing like with like.

Two things have to happen before I buy again.
1. Rangers are punished properly and the 10 SPL clubs achieve a change in the structure of the game.
2. The team improve.
Number 1 is far more important as that will affect whether I buy a ticket again as opposed to just next season. Failure to act now will result in me and my kids becoming match of the day supporters.

Matty, I agree 100%. I've been saying this for ages. There probably are plenty of people that would be happy to pay a bit more for seats either side of the half-way line and if we graduated the prices down to FF Lower as being considerably lower than that area, it surely would allow people to buy that couldn't otherwise afford it and be an incentive to buy STs instead of walkup.

According to workmate Hearts have made a really dodgy pricing structure. They only had a very limited number of tickets at the indicated price. He paid £300 last season. Today at 9.05 arrived in shop to get his new "Silver" ticket for £270 and all the early birds had gone and it cost £300. I understand they are now costing £320 for the same ticket. Pensioners ticket is now 50% more than last season for same seat as all cheaper ones have gone.
Don't know if they will increase again.

Will be interesting to price compare with other clubs and if we are still in top 3 for cost then that is just not acceptable for where we are in the league and have been performing.
People can't argue the yams prices are more reasonable and there is no coincidence that a higher placed team in the league and cheaper tickets you will have a larger fan base each week.

8.35am - £410.00
9.15am - £430.00
