It has become clear to me lately, that I have been oblivious to the levels of misogyny in our society and that, having woken from this slumber, I find it astonishing that this kind of thing still goes largely unchecked.
As for Limbaugh's “joke” about women placing aspirin between their legs; there is a connection between him and the part of the female anatomy that the drug is trying to protect: they are both *****.

There is though a debatable point in there and that is should the tax payer pay for free contraception or should the individual who wants to have sex pay for it, what is the cost of providing it versus the cost of unwanted pregnancies and so on, especially in a developed economy.

The opposite argument is in African countries where free contraception is a must to try to check HIV/AIDS.

..not just in those countries, I would suggest. Free condoms and needle exchanges are a fundamental part of the Harm Reduction model which has helped contain the spread of Blood Borne Viruses in Europe. Sadly, though, these measures are being phased out in some areas (including the Lothians), due to those financial considerations that you mention.

To be honest I'd never heard of him before this story, I googled him and stumbled across his 'most controversial' quotes. My flabber was gasted. His racist remarks are off the scale. To an African-American woman who called his show he said, "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back", because he couldn't understand her accent. Unbelievable.

I don't know what's more disgusting, his views or that fact that millions of people in America are happy to listen to them.
