I came across this on Wikipedia. Quite fascinating figures - I was astounded to see just how many games the great Arthur Duncan played for us.

You have yoyr Zarabi or your Blobby mixed up. Neither were at the club at the same time. Zarabi was slower than me and subsequently not fit for purpose.

It's difficult because apart from the Scottish Cup, Hibs only played friendlies and local competitions at this time and league were a long time off.

Also interesting that the only other players to break 400 league appearances are Peter Kerr (443) and and Mattew Patterson (403) neither of whom I'd ever heard of. Both played during a pretty fallow period for Hibs (c 1908 - 1926) but they must have been stalwarts all the same.

NB - great that a more recognisable name in Arthur Duncan (446) managed the achievement of breaking the appearances record - was my favourite player as a wee kid and is well worthy of the honour given his already legendary status courtesy of his 2 goals during a certain game at Tynie!

Johnny Halligan played more than 400 league games and if you include war time leagues, Gordon Smith played as many as Arthur Duncan.
