Sorta half listening to the 6 o'clock STV news earlier and am sure I heard it said that the BNP are planning a march in Edinburgh on the date of Adolf Hitler's birthday.

I mean wtf - no way a license to march should be granted to them :grr:

They must have put multiple applications in. They are planning one in Aberdeen on the same date. Apparently it's a protest against the SNP who were formed on the same date or something. Hopefully they all get kicked in to touch.

IMHO, it's an unfortunate part of living in a democratic society that people such as these are allowed to demonstrate. I'd rather they were allowed to do this than there be arbitary decisions about which groups are acceptable and which are beyond the pail.

Demonstrations give people a chance to have others consider their point of view. I'd say any appearance by the brain dead thugs that support the BNP is more likely to lose them supporters than gain them. Failing that an interview with the fascist on the street is certain to turn people away.

Laughter is our best tool against these reactionaries.

I think it's the National Front.

They are planning a march up here in Aberdeen as well.

Yes.

If they get the go ahead then presumably the other set of plankton from Anti-Fascist Action will turn out as well so could EDC not allow them all to 'march' in a field out at the bypass or something?
