Agree with this. What purpose will it serve?

Have to say that this compliance officer position seems to be a total waste of time and effort for everyone involved. Seems to me that it's a position where sour grapes and revenge can be enacted as opposed to genuinely trying to cut the bad element out of the game. For example, I think it's far less sportsmanlike to feign injury or try to talk an opponent into the book or overreact to a refs final (but usually flawed) decision, than make fairly pointless gestures which upset the sensitive wee souls in the stands.
