Wonder if we'll be hearing about us getting any pre-contracts signed. Especially around season ticket renewal time.
Here's an spl one agreed

#StMirren agree Pre-contract deal with Cowdenbeath Captain Jon Robertson

We won't find it easy to get people to agree to sign for next season until it's known what league we will be in.

Players will be reluctant to sign for a team who might be about to go down. So, hopefully we start climbing the table soon and maybe line up a couple.

Have we ever really signed players on pre-contract? I recall Donaldson but can't think of any more.

Saw it mentioned on the Bounce that we had signed Michael O'Connor on a pre-contract, no idea if true however may explain why we appeared to be the only one going for him in January.

I also think PF will try and get Sean Dillon in the summer maybe not on pre-contract but think he is out of contract at end of the season.

We also have a number of loan signings where we may have first option on them.

I'm sure I read last week that PF says we DO have options on some of them. McPake, Griffiths and Soares maybe??

Don't think JJ was a pre-contract.

DvZ was, though.

Donaldson, DvZ and Kerr are the only ones I recall in recent seasons.

They have signed his replacement, on a pre-contract.

And JJ wasn't a pre-contract signing by us.

I liked Townsley, thought he was a really good player for us. Each to their own though :agree:

Sean Dillon is he that good, is he best position right back or centre back?
Michael O'Connor looks a very decent player but can we secure him?
Johnny Hayes looks very decent and would fit in?
James Berrett has also been linked a creative midfielder with Carlisle?
Which if the loan signing would you take?

Highly rated at wolves. No chance of a permanent deal with us IMO

I'm sure Dirk Lehmann was our first pre-contract signing!

Back in 2000?

True. Unfortunately Docherty will be away at the end of the season, I reckon. I recall him saying in his first interview as a hibs player that he is wanting to use his time up here to get regular football and keep his fitness up, so he can go back to wolves next season and get a couple of games for them next season. After his great peformance last week, this lad definitely has the potential to play in that league. I would love to have signed this guy but I am sure PF has some other players on his radar in that position as their is no way Docherty will be here next season.
