Why Hanlon? Has the yellow cards tally reached the one match ban stage?

And what then happens, is it then another 5 yellows until a 2 match ban?

A wee bit foresight from our manager could have avoided his ban IMO.
2-0 at Ibrox with 20 minutes to go and your centre half is on a booking and probably one tackle away from a sending off. I doubt we would have rescued anything from the game at that point and reckon PF should have been looking at subbing McPake, keeping him available for more important battles ahead.

I'm quite glad that having watched his side create a host of chances, even at 2-0 down the manager was still looking for something from the game.

And Griffiths will be completing his suspension that day too.

And we might still have had a chance then with eleven men.

But your reasoning for taking him off was that we weren't going to get back in the game at 2-0 regardless. The manager clearly felt otherwise and so kept what he felt was his strongest team on the park.

The second yellow wasn't even a booking.

And neither was the first IMO.

How many teams have been 2-0 down at Ibrox with 20 minutes to go and managed a draw or better?

IMO, we had/have more important games to come than the trip to Ibrox. We are now missing what we hope is going to be a very influential player for us in a very important game. Ok, we have a different opinion of what should/could have been done but that's what this forum is all about, opinions.
We could have subbed McPake and lost 6-0, but we he would have been available for the Aberdeen game.

You're working on the presumption that PF knew he was going to get a second yellow but of course he didnt.

That's the kind of defeatist attitude Nutsy is thankfully trying to eradicate from the club. I remember us scoring three late goals at Ibrox under a similarly adventurous manager a few years ago. (no, not Calderwood!)
