Pretty sure Hearts fans idolise Zibi, I know some that still talk about how amazing he was for them.

Nice to see that Gary Mackay also gets a mention.

"I was just browsing Dixie Dean's Wikipedia profile and was surprised to read that he was a Mason," writes Mark Johnson. "I was just wondering if there are any other known footballing Masons or any footballers belonging to other mysterious, secret societies?"

Anyone offer an answer to the above? :greengrin

"the otherwise fairly undistinguished MacKay."

Must be a different Gary MacKay they are talking about?

Maybe it was the undistinguished one that played in the Albert Kidd match? Maybe someone can come up with proof? :greengrin

Who was the goalie that played for ST J, among other teams, that used to get on well with the Hibs support? (Andy Rhodes maybe?)

Yes - Dunfermline too.

I remember him throwing his gloves into the Hibs fans at the game end a couple of times.

Mental.

Did Rhodes not make some kind of gesture to the Hibs fans in the Skol cup final.

It must be :agree:

There's no way they can describe the multi-medalled, definitely non-racist one in such a derogatory fashion.

He played for Dundee F.C. mate two goals that sunk the ****s when they could have been contenders. Funny thing was he couldn't score in barrel full of f*****s and only came on as a sub cause the D had noone else to play. But you already knew that!!

fraser pettigrew, the source of the Sir Albert story for the guardian, used to post quite a lot on this forum and had a separate section on old hibs newspaper cuttings

we were both members of the cambridge supporters branch

You still around on the forum fraser?

Diego Maradona - idolised by Scotland supporters maybe?

Sadly Germany always scores so many goals against the England teams that none really hit the heights enough to be 'idolised'
