ive recently been thinking that we the fans need at least a couple of new songs that rouse the fans, not the one or two liners, but maybe a few verses. i was trying to come up with one or two that might fit into maybe tv theme songs like the minder series or something like that. however im not the most poetic person and have struggled a bit but im sure if some of the more gifted among us could do it. clean songs of course celebrating the hibees without being too derogatory about other teams. just and idea??

I reworked an old one a few months ago but then the Paul McBride "Hibs are sectarian" nonsense blew up so I kept it close to my chest as I didn't want us to come under more fire with people confusing it with the old lyrics/being like Celtic. Anyway, this is an (almost) clean version supporting Hibs

Forever and ever, we'll follow our team
The Embra Hibees, the boys in green
For we won't be mastered, by no Jambo *******
We'll keep the green flag flying high

So bring on the Hearts, the Celts, the Rangers
Bring on the Spaniards by the score
Barcelona, Real Madrid,
We all love Albert Kidd
and Hibees are the team that we adore

I dunno. Sounded good in my head. Maybe it will catch on again?

:top marksGood thinking - I like it! It's a good song and, like you said, we don't want to be tarred with the Celtic brush. Although I did always like the line '****** the queen for half a quid'. But in all seriousness, I hope this is goer - an old classic which has evolved with the times - let's get it sung!

There have been some new songs made that will be sung tomorrow, and are class imo. :agree:

They joined the Hibs, coz the Hearts don't pay
They moved to Leith and now they hate Gorgie
They're hard as nails and they sing Hail Hail
Fenlon and Brown, Fenlon and Brown

To the tune of 'Dirty Old Town' by the Dubliners.

A couple of old ones which seem apt enough...

Hi-bees - nanananana - Hi-i- bees
I'd walk a million miles for one of your goals oh Hi-i-bees O

Oh Oh Oh Hi-ibees....etc... (To the tune of Al Jolson's Mammy)

Oh we are Sailing.....So give us a goal.... (John Lennon's Give Peace a Chance)

You are my Francomb, my Georgie Francomb,
You've come from Norwich, where things seem great,
5ft 11 of football heaven
Just don't you take my Francomb away

(To the tune of ‘Country Roads’)

Take me home, take me home
To the place I belong
To Easter Road
To see the Hibees
Take me home, take me home

nanana hibees, nanana hibees, nanana, nanana

Leith san siro, seven zero, take me home, to Easter Road

----------------------------------------------

(To the tune of ‘Rivers of Baylon’)

We're the Hibees from Easter Road
That's where we play
Come see the Hibs
Fenlon's green and white army

1st time do it slow and clap, 2nd slightly faster, 3rd fast and bouncing, 4th go 'oh oh oh ohhhhhhhh'

----------------------------------------------

Paddy (Paddy)
Fenlon (Fenlon)
Green & White Army (Green & White Army)
Green & White Army (Green & White Army)
Paddy Fenlons Green & White Army (Paddy Fenlons Green & White Army)

This one is a back and forth chant, then continue with 'Paddy Fenlons Green & White Army' like normal.
