That's always baffled me.

Only started seperate comps in 89-90 I think, not sure why!

Women are athletically speaking weaker than men (in general ofcourse, me excluded), darts is quite clearly an athletic sport. Simple really.

You only have to watch 5 mins of womens darts to know why there are seperate comps.

Same in Snooker and Pool, doesn't seem to be any obvious reason why one gender should have an advantage based on strength or physicality (monster boobs notwithstanding - look at yon Stephen Lee).

I agree I'm not that good but I reckon I could beat most of them over 3 sets. I was a bit embarrassed for them in all honesty!

I'm pretty rubbish but I reckon I'd beat most of them. They take forever to hit a double. It's almost like Bobby George has been sent to Asda with a handful of polo shirts and picked random women, given them Dutch names and thrown them in front of the dartboard!

I have no idea just why women are not competing with the men at these sports. My mates daughter Lynette Horsbourgh was No1 women snooker player in the world around 2004/5, My biggest break is a huge 57 , and i regularly beat her (at snooker :greengrin) in my local club.

Because they generally don't get so much practice sitting around pubs drinking and chucking darts at a board!

I must have imagined this, but I think the women's final was played as the first to 2 sets??!! TWO

The men's was first to seven - clearly the women can't hack standing up at the oche for long :tin hat: :greengrin

Was 2-1 in the final. Looking at the averages they are miles behind the men; mid 70's compared to mid 90's with Phil Taylor averaging 110 in one final!

Think its got something to pricks and I know there's a joke in there somewhere, but I'll be damned if my caffein less brain will put it together.
