A 7.3 earthquake has struck just off the coast of Indonesia and a tsunami alert has been sounded.
A lot smaller than the 9.3 magnitude which struck on boxing day in 2004, but nonetheless, this one has the potential to cause some serious damage on a somewhat local scale.
Hopefully most of the energy dissipates before reaching land and the damage caused is minimal.
