Not good enough for Craig Brown's Aberdeen side but a contender for us? Is he suddenly the only player available in the January transfer window?

Why do people start these threads? Why? :spider:

I think we should be setting our sights a little higher than an Aberdeen reject, if we actually want to improve our team.

Absolute garbage...........and so is Magennis.

What about having one thread that the names of every single available player can be added to, then some (insert applicable adjective) can add their name followed by "worth a punt".

The aforementioned thread should only contain players earning 10k a week or like archiebald suggests a dumpling who has been freed and the standard of which is likely to get us relegated.

Fantastic idea.

Do you honestly think we will sign a star or anybody we know-never as long as money is so tight to Petrie & stf

We just signed Doyle and have Griffiths on loan both of which are IMO better than McGennis.

Doyle
O'Connor
Stokes
Sodje
Agogo
Riordan

These strikers have all been signed under the Petrie and STF regime and all of the better known and better paid than this boy from Aberdeen. Your point doesn't make much sense at all considering we have brought in some decent players in the past.

Hardly stars one is getting dumped (Wolves) after a couple of months -we cant afford transfer fee or wages for him the other was an unknown till he was brought in by PF and only got him because of PF although both seem to be no bad

Agogo Sodje come on they are crap

If the definition of punt, is to boot something almost out of sight, then yes.

I now some of them are crap but you said that we couldn't sign anyone because money was tight. My point is that money hasn't been tight in the past that we couldn't get some relatively well known strikers - strikers with a better pedigree than Magennis.

He's fast and strong... that's it. He's only been playing outfield since 2008! Not half as good as our current strikers.

What difference doesn't it make if I'm young or not? The guy isn't good enough for a crap Aberdeen team, plays up front and has scored 4 in 42. Yes Ivan has been pish this time round but if he gets utilized better and used as a sub to run at defences then he could still be effective imo.

I thought he was a good player. One of these players you always got excited when he was on the ball, was great to see a player who wasn't afraid to take on a man. For his position got a decent amount of goals and assists as well.

Very quickly got found out as a one trick pony, IMO. He was fantastic value for money and part of a cup winning team so will always be held in high regard but for me hasn't done anything much since his return.

If the definition of punt, is to boot something almost out of sight, then yes.

and if a punt is one Irish pound prior to the euro then yes, he's worth a punt.
