What do you think?

We've done 2 deals already in this transfer window!

Now, if Pat and Rod can get another 9 done before 1st February we might just stay up!

See above, regarding Griffiths loan extension.

Would like to see a CB and a midfielder brought in before the Dunfermline game, then push on from there.

This is a massive game for both teams, it gives us a chance to pull away from them, but if we lose, they go in front with a game in hand...

Would we seriously sign someone during this week and put him straight into the team for Saturday? This is so typical of the Hibernian mentality now. Leave everything to the last minute, make a panic buy and then reflect at our leisure.

Last minute? It is the 9th of bloody January man. We already have done two pieces of business. More will come.

I remember a derby v Hearts at ER in the 80's I think. We signed Tommy McIntyre and Graham Mitchell on the day of the game and they went into the team that night. 2-2 draw if I can remember

Signed on 31/12/1986 and played in a 3-1 win at Falkirk on 3rd January 1987 - the Derby was at ER on 6th January ending in a 2-2 draw with Weir and Beastie scoring for Hibs :greengrin

I won't be as keen to see a new midfielder signed by Sat, if Osbourne will make it??

We certainly need a new defence, a RB and CH at least. If it's not by Sat, then before the window slams shut, otherwise we're goosed.

Can't remember too much about the game other than I think John Colquhoun scored both of Hearts goals? One I think was long range over Rough's head?

Would be great to further bolster the squad before this massive fixture but the emphasis must be on getting the RIGHT men in rather acting quickly. Wouldn't be surprised to see that defender from Coventry signed for saturday though.

Goldenhibby i was at that match and if my memory serves me well it was 3 players that alex Miller bought the two you mentioned plus Dougie Bell. All 3 players really improved the team at that time.

Was the derby not scheduled for the 1st that year but was cancelled? I do remember that the Hibs crowd at Brockville that day was massive. TM and GM were both fantastic servants to Hibs over the next few years. Both cup winners and would love to have their likes playing in our defence now.

Was it not absolutely Baltic that day and the pitch was frozen. IIRC did the players no wear trainers??

I'm sure some of them did. It was freezing cold and the pitch was solid. Think it was a 3-1 win for us and Bell looked really good that day. Strange that he came to us with the big reputation but it was the other two signings who were better for us in the end.

Panic buys will not help us at this point Pat needs a few years to undo the mess that RP Has made with his appointment of the last 2 imposters.

We have enough in the tank to win this massive game this weekend. In Paddy we trust :pfgwa
