Should I give praise to every team that has won this weekend too?

No, but you're quick to ask FH to praise Man City, I just wondered if you'd do the same. Obviously that's too much to ask

Heroic???

Really!!?

well, 3 0 down against 12 men after having your most important player unfairly sent off and they came out and should have earned a replay imo, united got another big decision when we didn't get a penalty for Jones' handball. It would have been easy for our players to feel sorry for themselves with the shocking decision that had already gone against them and the fact they were 3 0 down.

I'm totally neutral in the city v united debate but it's got to be said that al of a sudden man city have attracted a battalion of new fans. It's amazing what investment can achieve.

Yes only supported them for 45 years through a little thick and years of thin..
So it is ok to support teams who trophies regularly United Liverpool, chelsea Arsenal and the OF and glout for years and show disrespect for all other teams as they think they have a divine right to beat everybody and get all the decisions.
But teams who begin to mount a challenge, well their fans are not allowed to hbe happy and give back some stick they have taken for years.
Grow up GB and get your facts right befeore you slag people off.
Bet if we had a cash injection and started to challenge the OF and smashed the Jambos you would be a quiet as a church mouse!!!!!!!

What do you think Scholes is ????:confused:

It was made quite obvious what happened with Scholes.

It was Scholes' decision to retire in the summer, Ferguson wanted him to stay on because he felt he still had enough for at least another year.

After a few months in retirement, Scholes had grown tired of not playing and wanted to get involved again and Ferguson was only too happy to have him back.

It's hardly "heroic" though is it?

Determination, yes
Resolve, yes
Heroic, no

Let's leave those sorts of words to the people who really are heroes, not football players who manage to score two goals in 45 minutes.

All this chat about City's heroism is a bit much when, with the money they have spent and the players they have brought in, they should be 10 points clear, still in the Champions League and still in the FA Cup. Instead, they're only 3 clear of an average United side that's badly afflicted by injuries, out of the CL and have now lost at home to United in the FA Cup. Not very impressive from that perspective.

Of course with the jealousy-fuelled United hating on here and elsewhere, a lack of perspective is unsurprising.

Personally I think this helps City over the long haul, they will play less games due yo being knocked out which should help in April/May.

Calm doon, calm doon and come off your high horse! - I wasn't addressing you personally. I was making a general observation which I thought was fairly obvious by my post.

People are attracted by success or the chance of success, and you only need to look at what happened to the Yams attendances when the mad one took over. I bet we all know guys who at the time came out of the woodwork yet pupported to be "life long Jambos"

Ok your team are out of the cup and you're feeling sore but Hibs are my ONLY team so I wasn't really fussed what happened in the cup tie today. However I did enjoy the game even although it meant absolutely nothing to me whichever side went through.

Red card ruined City's chances IMO. With 11 they might have won that but United's tactics were spot on IMO.

City could have won with 10 men if they had made the tactical adjustments immediately after the red card instead of waiting until half-time. The second goal came from poor positioning by Milner, who filled in at right back during that period.

Behave yourself.. The real reason is that Manure are skint and nobody decent ever moves in January due to there clubs being in the Champions League...

Once fully match fit Scholes will feature a lot this season. Carrick is average and Cleverly needs to devlop more into that midfield.

When United kept the ball and played 2 yard passes side to side Scholes found a team mate, it was when he didn't on at least 4 occasions from longer passes that he was found wanting. Just shows you how stats tell you very little in the context of the actual game. Needs a while to get back to his best yet, if he ever does that is.

Understandable and on one level you're correct - its all about results and City are out and United are through.

However we both know that the FA cup is now small beer to both Manchester clubs (I think the Europa too unless they meet in the final) and the real one is the premiership. I feel United missed a golden opportunity to hammer City and claw back some of the psychological ascendency they have traditionally enjoyed in this fixture but which was shattered by the 1-6 game. That they lost 2-0 in the second half to ten men will be a blow. In the last three games they have enjoyed one dominant half against ten men who were recovering from the blow of a harsh sending off in a derby. As soon as they regrouped at half time, they made United look a very clueless, gutless and dispirited mob. Watching that game I'm more confident than ever that the title is heading to Eastlands. This United team don't have the backbone of old. Not writing them off though, but Ferguson really needs to make a couple of strong signings in the window.

I hate to take issue with The Bard but United will win this Premier League.

I think that is a trifle uncharitable. After all, what is "support" but fancy.

We are all Hibs fanatics but that does not preclude supporting a team in say England or even Scotland. For instance I have always had a thing about Dundee. Reason being that they used to play attacking footer in the 60s and they had Gordon Smith for a period.

Also they heve great pehs.

And then there is Everton FC......

I see the man city defenders appeal against the red card has failed. Now has a 4 game ban. The Fa is well dodgy.

I also noticed Foy the ref has made 3 massive errors this season and they went against man city, spurs and chelsea. Hmmm ok then.

Its ridiculous, all you folk needing to latch on to some good team that can win things just because Hibs are so pish. You are not real fans of these teams so stop having pretend arguments about them. Its funny how there are so many man u and man city fans on here! Do you even go to any of their games?? Infact have you EVER been to a game?? Why are you even fans of these teams? I defy anyone who says they support two teams in equal measure, for me its not possible!

As I've said pretending to be die hard fans of these clubs is just laughable, ridiculous and totally sad!!
