Squad Numbers in the Cup

Having noticed some of the teams includings Hibs reverting to 1-11 with no shirt names today I assumed this was required for the cup. However Dundee Utd were wearing their usual squad numbers with names. Why have some teams changed to 1-11 with no names on shirts?

Different competition and not under SPL rules. Seem to recall us doing the same a couple of years ago.
