Michael Hart had a stinted period at Livingston - when he was injury free, he was a great player whilst on loan from Aberdeen but wasn't quite as impressive when he eventually signed.

James McPake is a cracking defender, though a little injury prone - very commanding and comfortable on the ball - started his career as a striker and is very good with the ball at his feet.

He would certainly add to the defense and would be less of a gamble than an aging Hart was.

If he was any good he wouldn't be getting pied by coventry but no doubt there'll be the usual 2 week honeymoon period when we think he's pele before we realise he's actually knickers
