what a team we had then man. we finished sixth was it? shows how far the SPL has fallen in such a short space of time.

That was something of a habit of his at the time, which led to all kinds of abuse on here. Particularly after he missed an even bigger sitter late on in a 0-0 against Aberdeen.

Nish of that time would undoubtedly be a better option than what we have now.

Stevenson at left back and Bamba at right back weren't so clever. Not to say they haven't done well elsewhere, just that's where they were playing then. I think Bamba ended up at right back because the first choice had been van Zanten, who was murder. I guess Stevenson was covering for one of Ian Murray's injuries.

Midfield was also pretty weak, really. It was a bit better after Rosa came in, but it was usually a man light (Mixu played Riordan, Nish and Fletcher most of the time), two if Joe Keenan was playing.

I remember the Matty Jack game well and I had a great view of Combe squaring up to the ref after the game from the old main stand. It was a soft penalty but we deserved it as united's time wasting that day was ridiculous.
