Only because he has 18 months left on his contract & he would be in breach if he walked away! He's come to an accommodation because both he & Vlad are looking for a pay day on his sale!

Ha ha sounds a bit like a police confession obtained after they have kicked the living daylights out of someone.....

In any case even then reading between the lines it's realyl saying....play me so someone might be daft enough to buy me and when they make an offer (no matter who it is) I'll be gone......

He has to be seen to be acting in a professional manner. It's good for the image and will appeal to a future employer.

At least that's what his Agent probably told him.

I reckon that's done purely to try and retain some value in him. He's worth a lot less if clubs know he's wanting out.

As stated by his agent a few days back:

But Fisher told BBC Scotland: "Andrew Driver has never said he won't play for the club.

"He always wanted to play, always made himself available for selection and has been ready to play for some time."

Driver, who made his Hearts debut in 2006, has 18 months of his contract to run.

"Andrew has been a loyal servant to Hearts," added Fisher.

"I saw some things that the manager said about his loyalty and commitment.

"Nobody questioned these things when the club turned down two great offers for the player, or when the player was turning up at his work every single day and making himself available for selection on Saturdays and not being paid.

"If somebody doesn't like you or want you to play, you find a solution.

"A written transfer request has been put to Hearts. We would be looking to leave in January on a loan or a permanent deal.

"If that doesn't happen, he remains an employee of the club and will give 100% for Hearts as he always has done."

But he has still submitted a transfer request, so nothing has actually changed, right?

Didn't the eyebrowless one confirm that driver had told him he wouldn't be playing again, sure I read that somewhere. Was he misquoted too?

Chick Young confirms all quotes reported in media were taken from that bastion of anti Hearts bias.........Hearts TV! Direct quote from Sergio.

Actually with the wages situation, it's getting to the stage where he could claim constructive dismissal (a.k.a repudiation of contract) and the article would actually be in his favour if he did 'cos it suggests he's trying to get on with things and not let it affect him. The final straw would be not getting paid again...

Ive been told that the wages issue for december has affected the whole of the playing staff, including the youngsters this time.

Something has to give here eventually. :agree:

:dizzy:

All the "He's p!sh anyway" comments on kickback will also have been "misquotes" and what they really meant was "He's the best player we've got". :agree:

The poor yams must be in a terrible state of confusion.

"What do you think about the Driver situation eh?"

"Er.. Er.. Let me just check what it tells me to think on Pravda.com and I'll let you know."

I won't say this often but Chick is spot on. HMFC are no longer a football club in any normal sense, a complete basket case.

We're having a terrible season but Hearts behaviour is completely taking the negative attention away from us.

driver HAS handed in a transfer request and his agent has also told sky sports news that the statement that he wanted to stay on hearts web site was never made by the player and if he is not allowed to leave in jan he will take legal action

Was this on SSN this morning?

And are the Yams on cutback taking this news with the indignation it deserves? Or are they just taking the fact that their club are royally ripping the pish right out of them by bending over and taking it some more?
