I'm shocked...

:greengrin

That's the 19,990th goal in Premier League history, by the way.

Will we see them hit the 20,000 mark tonight?

Sylar
21-12-2011, 08:06 PM
Another 10 goals needed, with quite an extensive schedule tonight?

I'll be a bit disappointed if we DON'T see it and I'd need to find something else to do when MOTD is on later :greengrin

As a wee aside to the rising tally, I wonder if we'll see Moses punished for Wigan, for taking what was a ridiculous dive to try and win a penalty for them earlier in the half.

I really do hope Wigan win this game, as I utterly loathe Liverpool, but the dive was a disgrace!

I cant believe Newcastle are losing:brickwall

Sir David Gray
21-12-2011, 08:44 PM
Fulham 0-3 Manchester Utd, Giggs.

19,999.

Would have been fitting for Giggs to have got the 20,000th but it's 3-0 anyway so happy days!

Who will score the next goal?

Sir David Gray
21-12-2011, 08:49 PM
Wigan 0-0 Liverpool, half time.

How has this match stayed goalless?

Wigan are playing some nice stuff and have troubled Reina on a few occasions.

17 goals so far from tonight's 7 matches, only one game without any goals and it just happens to be the live game on Sky.

Although to be fair it's one of the better 0-0 games I've seen.

Sylar

Sky chose the wrong game to cover by the looks of things - only game still at 0-0.

Didn't see the penalty, but how the hell did Caldwell handle the ball in the box, concede a penalty and not get at least a yellow for it.

He's now got a yellow for something else - sounds like he is one lucky *****bag to still be on the pitch

I didn't realise he hadn't been booked for it, as I'm not paying the greatest level of attention to be honest - his arms were well spread away from his body, so it was a sure booking.

The ref also failed to book Moses for what was a blatant dive in the first half!

Solid win for Everton tonight in front of hand-wringing fans. I don't know why Moyes took off Drenthe and put on out-of-form Cahill. It was squeaky bum time after that.

Watching MOTD...Arsenal and Villa game. Few thoughts.

Mertesaker is humpty, I actually thought he'd be a really good signing for them, he makes so many mistakes.

How on earth did the ref see the foul on van Persie as a dive?

Hutton is a bloody idiot. If he couldn't play football there's no doubt he'd still have found fame on Jeremy Kyle and Crimewatch.

Skertel didn't half take a swipe at Moses when you watch the replay from the angle behind the goal!

Not sure why Match of the Day didn't fancy showing proper highlights from the Tuesday games and didn't even send a commentator to either of them, but maybe that's just me wanting to watch the Bolton game again from last night.

Looks like Big Ron might have a new mate in the dole queue as well after Hansen's "coloured players" comment.

They were good on Saturday. Think it was just a case of having 3 games in a week, the last of which was against the best team in the country on top of their game. Then again, my assessment of the quality of teams is skewed by watching Hibs.

I'm not trying to have a go here hutchy, but there (as far as I know) is no universally accepted for a non-black person so why should we be allowed to round up all non-caucasian people into one group. That would be the argument I would imagine

Surely the best team in the country would be top of the league after all teams playing the same ammmount of games memory of a goldfish have we? 1-6

This sort of thing illustrates some of the current issues though.

Not really knowing the right words that are deemend acceptable doesn't make saying the wrong thing a racist action.

I think most of this stuff actually takes away from the real messgae on racism in that people should not be subject to abuse or discriminiation because of their ethnic background.

Up until fairly recently, "coloured" was the pc term to use. Saying "black" was frowned upon. It becomes ridiculous when people have to think twice before saying anything of this sort.

Nah. Very long time now since black became correct and coloured became wrong. In the UK anyway. Not sure about you frogs. Tend to agree with your point though.

Have also read it argued that black's full, proper use is not primarily to describe skin tone but to describe political/economic/etc oppression.

This is just getting silly now and actually takes a lot of attention away from the more serious examples of racist behaviour that can actually threaten people's lives.

It's going to get to the point where people are not going to give any comment on issues relating to race, religion, sexuality or anything like that, just in case someone finds offence somewhere.
